Not denying those, those are valid.

It's just insurmontable rage at a shitty writting trying to pass Jack off as the most heroic figure in the series. He was a dick, sure, so is everyone else, kinda part of the setting almost, but Jack's an special star.

You do realise that the only person that called Jack a hero was himself right? Him being the 'hero' was a delusion he made up, that's why he was so shitty at it

Well yes and no, he's called a hero by someone else in the Pre-Sequel.

I honestly have no major opinion on this topic one way or another I was never able to finish any of the games B1 (cause I only rented it) and B2 and BPS (cause I was waiting to play it with friends who never came through) So I don't really agree or disagree with any of the arguments here but I'm just gonna leave this here

I was gonna be my Girlfriend and our friends from when we were in high school who got together. They needed to buy the game, another ps4 controller, and ps plus. We got the stuff for our side but I don't think they ever got the controller.

I'm not talking about in game characters, I'm talking about players.

Read the other comments. Check any other comments about Jack behavior.

Bunch of people, for whatever reason, seem to eat up that whole "he's only bad because he was betrayed D: " bullshit.

not only here, people seem to think that was a good character development on the pre-sequel

Jack was more of a cowardly looser/ villain. Lilith didn't help this problem, at all. like, made it worse. She changed him from "I'm gonna kill all the bandits and save the world and be a hero, no matter what." to "I'm gonna kill everyone and be a hero, kill em all. Let god sort em out." He wasn't a heroic figure, he wanted to be a hero. I thought that was the point of his representation in the pre-sequel, a total nobody looser (Jack) trying to become a hero the way an employ of Hyperion would, by lying, cheating and murdering the people in your path.

I am playing through pre-sequel right now and it is pretty clear that you are the bad guys and Zarpedon, while a bit genocidal in her utilitarianism is working for the best of the universe.
Jack on the other hand is a manipulative psychopath which is clumsily shown in through the "that felt good" type comments after he kills people, every thing he does while heroically stating "lets save the moon" his goals is always aligned, his ex-wife is well aware of this as she arranges Jacks death just in time to save the moon.

It could be argued that every good guy in borderlands is a psycho but in any case they are not a psycho that has the whole amass power through the vaults master plan in the making.

The writing in pre-sequel is fine (not good, fine), its maybe hard to see this shit on the first play-through but the only psychosis Lilith caused in Jack that he probably didn't already have is the weird enemies=bandits, bandits=enemies fixation, he had a strong hatred for bandits before though, the plan was already made and the vault was just another weapon he needed.

Jack was a villain from day one. Lillith had nothing to do with making Jack keep Angel captive. Jack knew what he was doing for decades, just waiting for the right moment to see the vault open.

>>#12,

Jack was never a good guy. The fact that the pre-sequel tries to make him sound a paradigm to all that is good is disgusting.

Do check this other comment.

Well he was definitely a deuschebag from the start, but during the presequel his intentions were good at least

I still blame Rolands death and near death of the planet on Lilith. Seriously, I wonder what she's going to ruin in the next game.

Also I noticed gearbox has a fascination with the term badass. Everything is badass this and badass that. Battleborn could have been called badasses and bad jokes the videogame.
