Post 1942 the Russians production had started overtaking the germans. But yeah they kicked German ass

Eh, its more or less around the time of the Battle of Kursk that that happened. From the dying days of 1942 to that battle they were at a parity but afterwards the Russians steamrolled them.

Because they literally just threw bodies at them.
Eventually, numbers will always overwhelm better technology.

The Russians killed those who ran away and sent their soldiers to die in suicide missions. If they made it back, they would be congratulated. If not, they would be killed. and if they came back without winning, they would be killed, because they ran away.

Basically, it was a huge machine made perfectly that was able to grind up soldiers easily, but Russia kept pumping more and more into it and eventually the machine broke down and Russia claimed that as a win. To this day, people glorify Russians for 'winning the world war' when it was really just throw themselves at the enemy in huge numbers.

You are what is called a Wehraboo on any tank or warfare forum. The Germans made so many colossal mistakes during the war it isn't funny. For instance take the Panzer 4 vs the M4 Sherman comparable tanks on either side with the same general role.

The sherman had greater crew comfort, better armor, a much greater upgrade potential, and in several cases superior firepower a 90% reliability rate and in the case of the late model M4A3E8 (76) Sherman a vastly superior tank.

German tank designers made beautiful tanks sure, but they also made them unnecessarily tall which made them heavily than they needed to be, overdid them in the anti-armor roll, with the Panther being inferior to both the Panzer 4 it was designed to replace and the Tiger it was to serve alongside in the infantry support role, the primary mission of tanks in the breakthrough role. Yes the Russians did use superior numbers but they also used tactics beyond that like literally every other army. IIRC it was Zhukov's deep battle doctrine that helped Guderian create Blitzkrieg.

relax i think its just popular perceptions that russians were 'incompetent' i doubt shes doing this out of malice or preference to nazis

You are probably correct. I just really like tanks and the Second World War, and it looked like I was reading the plot of COH2 again which is infuriating from sheer historical inaccuracy.

But yes I doubt it is out of preference for Nazism.

Russians didnt have better tech?

heres where youve messed up. The Russian tanks although somewhat crude, are simple, easy to manufacture and repair. German tanks were severely over engineered and prone to breakdowns. Also when you have 3 tanks to produce versus 10 different tanks, manufacturing becomes easier. The russian IS-2 was a more superior tank in battle to its German opponent the Tiger.

Russians on suicide missions and killed for not succeeding? Where is the proof for this please? during the battle of stalingrad, the desperate Russian situation demanded the famous order "not a step back". This made them dig in and fight harder. Post Stalingrad, Russians retreated and were defeated in lots of minor skirmishes.

Throwing 'themselves' at the enemy. LOL
Do you know how many troops the germans had west vs east. 2 million vs 7 million. The Russian offensives were designed to never give Germans any breathing room. By giving Russians breathing room at Kursk, Russians had established a strong defensive perimeter and they were determined to not give Germans time to do so to them. The combined western allies (5 million) landed in 1944 against 2 million german troops from 44-45 and still took a while to de-trench the germans from well established hills and defensive positions in the small country of France as opposed to the vastness of the eastern front.

Please support your claims with Historical evidence, not Enemy of the Gates hollywood.

The Russian tanks were externally crude and placed a greater emphasis on functionality compared to crew comfort. The IS-2 for instance weighed the same as a Panther yet had few to none of the reliability problems, greater protection and a better gun for basically any task.

Otherwise you're absolutely correct.

This is exactly it. And to further your point, I fear that Fallout has headed down the mainstream path. In video games I've noticed the saying "you either die a hero or live long enough to become to villian" applies. You'll have a REALLY good franchise like fallout. Once it maxes out its fanbase and sales after a few games, they start looking to add features to attract more players. Eventually so many things get added and changed that the game loses what made it really good.

I first noticed this with the Splinter Cell series. Conviction and Blacklist were good but they don't "feel" like splinter cell. They make you want to engage in fights whereas the point of the first 4 were to avoid fights as much as possible.

I've got no problem with non RPG fallout games, Tactics was great, I actually wouldn't mind a new Tactics game. Fallout 4, however, had a lot of new and interesting mechanics, it's just a shame they had to cut out (Or I'm pretty sure it's in the same engine as skyrim so they might have not bothered recreating those old mechanics from the old engine, I don't know) a lot of the old mechanics. I'd love to see refined basebuilding, weapon customization, and armor upgrading as well as the Karma system and durability.
Bethesda seems like they'll listen to their fans, here's hoping they've been listening and will bring back some of the old mechanics.
