been playing for a couple months, havent spent a cent. there are options to buy things but it wont put you at a big disadvantage in game play.

You can pay for champs and such, but it is free to get everything necessary. You get Influence points (IP) for playing games. IP can be used to buy champions and runes. Do not buy runes before level 20, they will be useless. The only thing that you must pay for is skins, and they aren't necessary. You can also buy champions with RP (Riot points, the stuff you pay for) but you don't need to, it just takes awhile to save up IP for some more expensive champs.

The only thing you have to pay for is skins for champions.

Even then they have skin sales you can get at least one with the free 400 RP They give you.
