I am sorry for my words, i do hope i will see more of your content in the future.
Scratch the racy and offensive part of my deleted comment, that was not about the Noah sketch. :I
As careers go, it's kind of like being a musician. You'll be lucky to keep the lights on unless you get famous, but it is a whole lot of fun as a hobby/second job. If you think you've got what it takes, give it a try. I recomend reading "step by step to stand up comedy" It's a great book that covers the fundamentals. There's a big difference between being funny to your friends and being funny to an audience, but if you can do one, you can learn the other.
You'll love it. I definately recomend easing into it as a hobby. Write a few jokes. Go to an open mic once or twice a wek for awhile and see how it goes. And prepare yourself for harsh criticism. Everybody sucks their first few times. Good luck with the computer programming. My day job is IT as well.
ya know, it really is. I love it. It's more than performing and making people laugh. It's the community. You go to the open mics where all the local comedians practice. You go to the shows where everyone comes out to support each other and it starts to take over your social life. When the show's over and everyone's hanging out for a few drinks, you find your self bullshitting with the funniest people in your area and becoming friends with them. It is the most fun I have ever had in my life.
