Evidence #4—Sediment transported long distances.
We find that the sediments in those widespread, rapidly deposited rock layers had to be eroded from distant sources and carried long distances by fast-moving water. For example, the sand for the Coconino Sandstone of Grand Canyon (Arizona) had to be eroded and transported from the northern portion of what is now the United States and Canada. Furthermore, water current indicators (such as ripple marks) preserved in rock layers show that for “300 million years” water currents were consistently flowing from northeast to southwest across all of North and South America, which, of course, is only possible over weeks during a global flood.

Evidence #5—Rapid or no erosion between strata.
We find evidence of rapid erosion, or even of no erosion, between rock layers. Flat, knife-edge boundaries between rock layers indicate continuous deposition of one layer after another, with no time for erosion. For example, there is no evidence of any “missing” millions of years (of erosion) in the flat boundary between two well-known layers of Grand Canyon—the Coconino Sandstone and the Hermit Formation. Another impressive example of flat boundaries at Grand Canyon is the Redwall Limestone and the strata beneath it.

Evidence #6—Many strata laid down in rapid succession.
Rocks do not normally bend; they break because they are hard and brittle. But in many places we find whole sequences of strata that were bent without fracturing, indicating that all the rock layers were rapidly deposited and folded while still wet and pliable before final hardening. For example, the Tapeats Sandstone in Grand Canyon is folded at a right angle (90°) without evidence of breaking. Yet this folding could only have occurred after the rest of the layers had been deposited, supposedly over “480 million years,” while the Tapeats Sandstone remained wet and pliable.
#1339 - whofortytwo (02/28/2012) [-]
Evidence #1—Fossils of sea creatures high above sea level due to the ocean waters having flooded over the continents.
We find fossils of sea creatures in rock layers that cover all the continents. For example, most of the rock layers in the walls of Grand Canyon (more than a mile above sea level) contain marine fossils. Fossilized shellfish are even found in the Himalayas.

Evidence #2—Rapid burial of plants and animals.
We find extensive fossil “graveyards” and exquisitely preserved fossils. For example, billions of nautiloid fossils are found in a layer within the Redwall Limestone of Grand Canyon. This layer was deposited catastrophically by a massive flow of sediment (mostly lime sand). The chalk and coal beds of Europe and the United States, and the fish, ichthyosaurs, insects, and other fossils all around the world, testify of catastrophic destruction and burial.

Evidence #3—Rapidly deposited sediment layers spread across vast areas.
We find rock layers that can be traced all the way across continents—even between continents—and physical features in those strata indicate they were deposited rapidly. For example, the Tapeats Sandstone and Redwall Limestone of Grand Canyon can be traced across the entire United States, up into Canada, and even across the Atlantic Ocean to England. The chalk beds of England (the white cliffs of Dover) can be traced across Europe into the Middle East and are also found in the Midwest of the United States and in Western Australia. Inclined (sloping) layers within the Coconino Sandstone of Grand Canyon are testimony to 10,000 cubic miles of sand being deposited by huge water currents within days.

Many people in arguments like this have said there are fossils of transitional stages of Evolution. Dead being a major part of Evolution, we should have billions of the things just laying around. I know that fossils are actual bones, yes. But fossils don't prove anything whatsoever; they point more to a worldwide flood than Evolution.

Proven theory is an oxymoron. If it's a theory, it's unproven.
So that same argument goes for Evolution.
User avatar #1341 - fredneck (02/28/2012) [-]
These are not facts, theories, yes, but facts no.
#4 - ever heard of rivers? yeah, those things transport sediment & sometimes dry up, leaving sediment from other places in a new environment.
#5 - The sharp edges seen in rock layers can generally be formed by volcanic activity, even disruptions on the surface (comet/meteor impact)
#6 - The bent rocks you speak of are formed again from volcanic activity, when the rocks begin to heat to extreme temperatures, then cool as a liquid, some of these formations are also formed by the make-up of said rock, sandstone for example, made from highly compressed sand, if layers of this are interrupted by mounds or anomalies, they will form the shape over it..
#1 - Lakes & current, the current from rivers may carry fossil evidence downstream, towards a lake for example, then as the lake dries, the evidence appears to have come to land. Lakes & rivers can also in fact appear above sea level too...
#2 - buried under sediment? sounds like a landslide of some sorts, or perhaps even millions of years of a water body depositing sediment over preserved dead, as for chalk, chalk is made up mostly from small prehistoric sea shells, crushed & compacted, mixed with other minerals, hence why you find it there. Coal is, or was plant life, again being placed under the pressure of millions of years of dirt & rock.
#3 - The white cliffs of Dover are not related to any other chalk body other than the white cliffs of Calais, as they were once attached, but have been broken after the last ice age caused weather changes & sea current. other chalk bodies are unrelated, as anybody could draw lines from one to another... as for rocks seen on other continents, ever heard of Pangea? it was the land mass that contained all continents before it split due to the earth's crust shifting, hence why you may see the same rocks in africa and south america...
Hope that cleared up some things
& next time, dont use a biased source, because you'll get biased arguments

User avatar #1337 - fredneck (02/26/2012) [-]
"building a biblical worldview" Really?
Try something more legitimate & unbiased.

& besides, you're theory dictates that all land life would have died off, as a worldwide flood would have definitely caused an extremely close to 0% survival chance... Care to explain that?

The only problem with your side of that argument is that over time, dead species of mammal/reptile/fish/bird decompose, it is only under specific conditions that the fossils we see today are preserved, hence why we do not see many around.
If it were a worldwide flood, we would see geological evidence of said flood, not to mention the fact that all extinct sea creatures appearing inland, which has only happened around dried lakes, rivers & seas...
A worldwide flood would have caused most land animal's bones & general body matter to decompose in a matter of days...

First off, it's sort of impossible to have a half evolved species, as everything keeps evolving throughout time. Using your logic, you could say we are half evolved...

As for actual pictures of today's fossils being alive, it's impossible, because of the fact that they have evolved & died out, as well as the fact that there were no cameras believe it or not...
All you have to do is search fossils into google or some shit to get actual fossils... & before you claim that they are just gods rock formations, tests have been made & some cellular fossils have been found within bones ect...

Now where is this large list of ways to disclaim fossil evidence?

Either you're unbelievably ignorant & stupid, or a really bad troll...
The universe exists. I am here, inside of it. the shape & how it came to be/how it will end cannot be proven, however the fact that there is a large space in which masses of elements come together to form celestial bodies is proven. The proof? Well I don't know what kind of knowledge you have gained in however many years you have lived. But there are in fact other rocky planets, orbiting the same star as us...

Okay. Now you're contradicting yourself...
You said that evolution is proven to be wrong, so what you're saying is that you believe it's proven that it's wrong, but because when something is proven, it isn't proven, therefore there's still a large chance it could be a true fact?
#1327 - whofortytwo (02/22/2012) [-]
