Makes sense Europe approves of obama since both are socialists

I don't think Europe is so much socialist, a lot of people like to use Sweden as an example of how "awesome" socialism is but they have a strong and very unregulated private sector, they do have a lot of welfare i believe but it doesn't make them socialist.

There is NO country that can truly follow Marx ideal. They can emulate it in some ways, but they cannot govern a country with his ideal. True socialism wouldn't work, true communism wouldn't work, because of people. The emulated versions of them work though, I will admit that. I will also agree with supreme capitalism being stupid. But supreme capitalism is not what America has, so...

I don't want free health care, because then the government would be paying doctors indirectly, which would raise taxes, and pay less to the doctors saving my life, why go through 8+ years of college for a salary you could get at some corporate job? I agree the educational system should be better, and even that teachers should be payed better, they have to go through college to, and get shit for pay. I think welfare is kind of bullshit, but maybe a bit to help them get back on there feet, only for a limited time of course, maybe four months or so.

Well, you've put a lot out there to start with. I'm not sure where you got the idea that all Christians believe the earth is flat and the moon is made of photons, but I don't really see any evidence for that. Deuteronomy was largely for public safety and practically applied the ideas of God in areas that don't really apply now. The mixed fabric thing had to do with vanity (if you can where ugly clothes, then you're not vain), tattoos are vaguely in the same area, with a little bit of public safety because getting a tattoo back then wasnt exactly a sterile operation. But all of that doesn't matter now that Christ paid for those sins with his life.
I care not what some idiot Christians believe in doing or not doing, I am nondenominational and base my beliefs straight out of the Bible.
That's ok with me that you're an atheist, I just think you're wrong and would like to see if I can possibly change your mind. If not, that's fine, it's your life/eternity.
As for "magic" and "superpowers," He does what He wants. He is God, all powerful, and all knowing. I see him more from the "Divine Clockmaker" perspective in that he set everything up in the world, so that he doesn't have to step in very much, and actively works by urging people to do the right thing in their mind. And on evolution, i believe both Creation and Evolution can coexist, I just had this discussion a few minutes ago. Hopefully this link works, never linked a comment before:
User avatar #256 - biggieboy (09/01/2012) [-]
From what I make from it, that would make you a deist, not a theist. Deist being that there's a God who created everything, and doesn't interfere with his creation. If you follow Christianity (or any other major religion really), God is clearly a theistic one (listens to your prayers, intervenes at moments,...)

And do you mean creationism and evolution, or am I missing something? because the two are not complementary or anything.
User avatar #267 - sirmatthew (09/01/2012) [-]
"he doesn't have to step in very much" not "not at all"
User avatar #268 - biggieboy (09/01/2012) [-]
Well then, if he CAN intervene, why doesn't he do it more often? Plenty of places in the world where divine intervention could be really helpful. Millions of people starving, natural disasters killing hundreds of thousands and leaving millions homeless, terrible diseases,...
User avatar #273 - sirmatthew (09/01/2012) [-]
If that were to happen, where would faith be? and I do think divine intervention has happened from time to time, but the big problems in our world arent pointless and for killing people. you see how people dying and diseases and such spurs people into action, brings people together, and breaks people into tears, which, isnt always a bad thing.
User avatar #274 - biggieboy (09/01/2012) [-]
Sure, bringing people together and spurring them into action are good, but if he can intervene, why would he let his favorite creation (according to the bible) suffer so much? Not even from what people do to eachother, but things we have little or no control over (like the weather and certain diseases)
User avatar #285 - sirmatthew (09/01/2012) [-]
Im not sure the exact reason, but i would say theres some underlying point to it all. I might reply again to this later, but im not sure quite how to phrase what im thinking

Thanks, if you wish to follow what's going on, I've actually just made a facebook page like 10 minutes ago, we're at the moment 2-3 people working on content for Skyrim.

The page obviously isn't worth much at the moment, but soon I'll add some screenshots of places around the world, and eventually I'll make it into a real page with daily / weekly updates for your feed. ;)
