Did those heavy users actually cause problems? If not, then who gives a fuck? Besides, why don't companies deal with a very, very small minority individually rather than fucking everyone?
My guess is the real reason for bandwidth caps is the success of Netflix and other streaming services. Most internet companies also do cable and Pay Per View services, and both of the latter are floundering in sales because streaming is an infinitely better service, so they restrict the bandwidth to force more people into purchasing cable or Pay Per View. My daily cap is 8 GB, which translates to about two medium length movies, which isn't jack shit for a family.

thing is, the whole ISP industry is meant to be a scam. ISP companies know that not everyone will use all the download speed they are paying for, and then they sell the remaining amount to other people. For them, people who actually use the whole bandwidth speed means loss.

Yeah, that's how the world works.
Most laws in most countries only exist due to a few people and are "restricting" everyone else...
The thing is, with the whole flatrate concept you can't terminate a contract with someone because they generate too much traffic. But on the other hand, you don't want customers that only cost you money. So you need to come up with a solution and apparently some ISPs decided that moving away from the flatrate concept is their solution.

The world maybe, but it's bad business for everyone. The only reason telecom companies can get away with this is because they have their dicks so far up the American government's ass that they don't even notice.
I get that, but at least having a more expensive unlimited option would be nice for those who have/want to use a lot of bandwidth, instead of being forced to limit your usage arbitrarily. I'm paying more for less service than I did four years ago.

so if you meet someone you have never met before you will treat them with 0 respect. treat them like complete shit? all people should be treated with respect to the fact that they are a fellow human being.
Whether you are tall, skinny, fat, plagued with down syndrome, black, white, asian, or rainbow colored, i will treat you with fairness, and equality, in general.
then again "equality" is a pretty broad statement. not really sure what you mean by it. im using it generally.

that's not what I said and you know it.
If I meet you for the first time, I will treat you like a neutral. From there the respect I have for you will go up or down. But since this happens really fast I think it's stupid to call that "equal respect". For example: If you bring before me 10 randomly selected people I'll probably have much higher regard for some of them than others within 2 seconds... The same actions don't get the same amount of respect. And that's normal due to each individuals perception of other people. A fat guy running ten miles will earn him much more respect in my book than a very athletic guy doing the same thing.
I work with mentally challenged people, some of them severely. For some of those people even properly asking a question is very demanding and therefore I respect them for giving all they can to do it. If my boss manages to ask me a fucking question it's not that much of an achievement though...
What I'm trying to say is that everyone has their strengths and weaknesses, noone is equal. If you compare two people both of them will be superior and inferior to the other at the same time, it's just a matter of what you're looking at.
