Has to be extended timeline mod or something. I've only seen the Byzantines survive to 1520 once in all my EU4 games and that was because Hungary and Poland went ham against the Ottomans , and I have never seen the Byzantines kick Ottoman butt out of Anatolia within 1520.

It was in 1037, the savegame grew stale, and my computer couldn't take anymore. Plz dont hate
And btw. if you enjoy CK2, then you should definitely try to pick up EU4 whenever its on sale. its even better than CK2, and I think that even though I have in total about 1000 hours on CK2. Wish I knew about EU4 earlier.

I played a Muscovy game a week ago, and within 20 years Burgundy and England had fucked France up totally. Had released Aquitaine, England had gotten Armagnac and some provinces near Normandy, while Burgundy had taken among other things Paris (!). Within 50 years France had taken it all back again. Theyll became beastly more often than not, and when they get fucked up they're still the most potent power in Western Europe until Spain is formed imo.
What I find more interesting though is that in my recent games Austria has lost the Empire in the first election to Bohemia every time, and after a couple of elections it ends up with the Palatinate, Hesse or some other weak smaller state being the emperor.

That's already happening actually.
I don't know the specific numbers for other countries but in the Netherlands Geert Wilder's Freedom Party (often regarded as the Dutch equivalent of the British UKIP, the French Front National, the Belgian Vlaams Belang etc., all populist parties preaching 'freedom' and nationalism, all eurosceptic and mostly anti-immigration) is currently in the lead, in some polls even outnumbering the current two coalition parties that form the Dutch government combined. For anyone interested: frontbencher.nl/peilingen shows fairly recent polls
It's obviously the most popular party because it's the only one that keeps stating "let's just close the borders, screw those refugees" while all others look for compromises with eachother and with the rest of the EU. It would likely be pretty bad indeed if we had parliamentary elections now, and you're probably right that goes for other countries aswell. All anti-immigration parties would be popular right now, and those also happen to be eurosceptic. We can't have the EU falling apart now.

It's only going to get worse, especially if reports of violence and other crimes keeps increasing at the established refugee camps and makes its way more and more into the wider media.
The initial boost to the popular parties across Europe might pale in comparison to their growth in the next few years.
