Most people on here don't like them, but they do actually have quiet a few really good songs. People don't care to look past their faces and see what's behind. I like their music, but most people who aren't teenage girls don't.

They also have an entire album with songs that are borderline plagiarism.
N'sync did it first and none of their shit is original.
Sure they are good singers, but that doesn't make them artists... just corporate sellouts.

No, i read that book, the chaos legions cant, as sexual impulse diverts attention from battle and the Emperor, hallowed be his name, wouldn't allow a mistake of that calliber. Also, they are fertile, it is mentioned in the Horus Heresy series, before the fall of Horus. The Marines serving Slaneesh would possibly gain adaptations towards sex they serve the god of pain and pleasure.

As it stands I have 36 warriors, was gonna do 3 squads of 12, I will take your advice on Immotek and sub him out for the traveler. Do you recommend a Royal court with say 3 lords with res orbs and warscythes?

I have proxied a few games with lychguard and praetorians before and they did very well to counter vehicles and close combat functions (though both were against Chaos). I figured C'tan are to pricey for having just one unit of them at a time but if they are worth it i'll have to give one a try. And I was going to run 2 squads of 10 Immortals as well, are they worth the effort?

Now you didn't cover Monoliths, I have used one before and it served very well as a CC factor and tank buster though from what I have been told it was nerfed in this last codex.

I haven't tried either wraiths or destroyers/Heavy destroyers yet, How many per would you recommend for a good sized force, say 400 pts or so?
User avatar #42 - flutterdoc (02/28/2013) [-]
you already have 468pts of warriors, I would recommend you buy transports next.
Royal court just take as many as you need and split them up among your troop squads, wargear: res orb, staff of light, mind shackle and sempiternal weave, warscythes are close combat weapons and your warriors are best at shooting.

Immortals are very worth it but still you are going to want to mount up your warriors before expanding to much more. A troop unit who can't reach an objective in time is pointless.

as for the lychguard what kind of army was the chaos one, I've seen berserkers wreck lychguard more times than i care to remember

Fast Attack and heavy support
scarabs and spiders = two peas in pod, can't have one with out the other

wraiths = broken 2 wounds 3+ invo save, rending 3 attacks can't not love'em just remember use the whips

tomb blades = really fast immortals

destroyers good for city fights not much else, heavy destroyers great tank hunters

annihilation barge & doom scythe, barge kills stuff sure but scythes are all that plus a laser gun on steroids not to mention that now that they are flyers the only thing that can hit them is the hydra flak tank (like you ever see 'em)

Dooms day ark = flimsy marine killer, they are to scary enemies will always go straight for them, first pen and they are armor 11 just use wraiths to kill marines much better at it.

so I recommend either wraiths and a doom scythe or doomsday ark, tomb blades, and heavy destroyers.
scarabs and spiders are a side dish not a main course.

Now Elites: pratorians and lychguard are tempting I know but don't save your points (same rule as immotek pretty much). flayed ones are useless now period (and over priced). so this leaves you with three choices C'tan shards, death marks, and triarch stalkers.
C'tans make great rear and flank guards and have awesome powers but are expensive and require a little experience to use effectively.

Stalkers: These are great so long as you choose the second troops choice listed above they heavily augment those around them and can knock out most tanks easily but they work best when at the heart of your army .

Deathmarks: what can I say.... they are assassins, they are best at killing monstrous creatures and enemy HQs. though not as complicated as C'tans you still should think about them.

Now Troops: you said you have warriors. How many? I recommend taking two squads of 14 (or thirteen if you want a cryptek) with a lord and above equipment in night scythes, the less fool proof option is two squads of nine in ghost arks with a lord. and the hardest would be two squads (must be at least 15+) with cryptek (despair with veil of darkness) and a lord (always have a lord with a res orb). be mindful you have to have transportation for troops.

Thanks for your info and I did think of doing a deathwatch based novel, what are your opinions on that?
User avatar #25 - flutterdoc (02/28/2013) [-]
with death watch you can mix and match your space marines, only problem is that they are xeno hunters and so you will mostly have them fighting tyranids, hurd and aliens. I'm sure you can find ways of interweaving other bad guys but death watch tend to be quite straight forward, an ordo xenos inquisitor with a few inducted space marines on the other hand, I think, has a lot more potential.
