funding for the development of a pill-based form of male contraception that has an effectiveness near that of female birth control, which would be dramatically better than condoms or pulling out percentage of effectiveness-wise, and laws requiring the father at least be INFORMED that he has impregnated a woman before an abortion can be performed, except in instances of rape, incest, where the life of the mother is in danger, or where the girl is under the age of 18 (in which case the law must be to inform her parent/guardian, which is only the law in a few states).

Also that page is fucking gross. 3 paragraphs in and they are talking about the patriarchy...
User avatar #349 - teranin (06/19/2013) [-]
Yeah but that's an injection into your dick, not a pill... but I did know about this and I do support it.
User avatar #323 - AresX (06/19/2013) [-]
Than why are you arguing against feminism? They're pushing for male birth control as well, it would be safer and less detrimental to the user's health than that of female birth controls which really fuck shit up.
User avatar #327 - teranin (06/19/2013) [-]
feminists do not support the male birth control pill idea, and in fact feminist lobbying groups are the ones who have done their best to prevent pharmaceutical companies from being funded to research any pill based male contraception. The reason for this is that if males had more power over their reproduction it would strip women of a measure of their control, which is a big no-no to the misandrists running the feminist lobby. I am aware that a lot of people identifiy as feminist but are actually about equal rights, but they are not the ones who are funded, who lobby, who enter politics, and who teach at university, and they are not people that subscribe to feminist theory which implies the existence of a patriarchy and that men are inherintly evil rapists. Those feminists are the ones that heard feminism is about equality and just went with it and give it their support without doing deeper research into exactly what the effect of feminist lobbying has been.
User avatar #331 - AresX (06/19/2013) [-]
Ah I see where you're coming from, I seem to have forgotten about the power hungry feminism and the equal rights feminism. Equal rights activists, who label themselves as feminist do support male birth control. Crazy feminsts with older ideals tend to have this control fantasy.

Honestly, feminists who are fighting for gender equality should change their name, it ends up with them being confused with what feminism has been doing for the past 20-30 years or so: completely trying to overthrow anyone with a penis.

The problem is that a lot of the feminsts say "Oh we can't just rename it! People are just uneducated! This is fighting for equality! It's what women have accomplished!".

My fiancée calls herself a feminist and I suggested the name change, she flipped saying how it'll take away the one thing women have.

User avatar #280 - floofy (06/19/2013) [-]
they have an american replacement that has sour hard candy inside that i had when i was a young kid.
User avatar #250 - thepandaking (06/19/2013) [-]
yeah because children died due to choking on their tiny plastic toy on the inside.
User avatar #251 - stigman (06/19/2013) [-]
why the hell are they eating the toys?
User avatar #252 - thepandaking (06/19/2013) [-]
they didn't carefully eat the chocolate, take out the toy, and consume it. They would shove it all in their mouth like it was all food, like every other food product, and then subsequently choke on the hidden plastic toy. Children aren't expecting that, they're not stupid for assuming it's all edible
User avatar #254 - stigman (06/19/2013) [-]
but everyone knows that kinder eggs has toys inside where i come from.
User avatar #256 - thepandaking (06/19/2013) [-]
They're not popular here, and kids who haven't seen kinder eggs have no way of knowing that. Only adults can warn them and even some adults wouldn't know there's a toy inside, they might think they're giving their kid candy.
extreme analogy, but it's like when people were hiding razor blades in oranges during halloween and giving them to kids, "everyone knew they had razor blades in them" except for the kids because they didn't know people did that.

1) It's a huge project to begin with. Gimping out on the container would be like buying a Ferrari and then holding back on white-wall tires to save $50.
2) Extreme cold would cause the destruction of cirtually all the cells being stored. Cells are what contains DNA. The project would be better of simply extracting DNA and storing it in it's purest form in a solvent with a virtually 0K freezing point.
3) I'm not being aggressive? I get thumbed down plenty, buddy. It's not a big deal. I usually never even thumb myself (I'm sorry, everyone). It seems everyone hates all of us. Even SirSheepy.

1) Or we could just store it, you know, in an underground bunker of some sort. Far more controlled, far more secure.
2) No, but on average kids don't plan on killing themselves when they grow up. So it can be assumed that it's false. And I can't help but notice you didn't even addres the second half: This is just going off their word.
3) That's not the point. I was pointing out the problem with statistics. Liek I said - "not near as impressive when statistics are removed. Although still impressive." I addressed that 10% is still a lot.
4) *ahem* THIS IS MY JOB. Did you read that last sentence, I make the software for optical or auditory chips that interact with the brain. Not all that many people are getting prototypes at this point - I see their reactions. I get news on how they're doing quite often. It's part of the job and one of the reasons why I love doing it so.
5) I don't know what you're talking about here. But if you mean the guy: "He died two years after his operation due to a prolonged period of ill health, with no specific cause of death noted." He died of being a human being. He didn't kill himself.
Also his confusion didn't come from the fact he could see - it came from things like abstract art that he couldn't understand, the fact that he was so old that his brain couldn't adjust itself to properly use sight, the fact that suddenly after 52 years of blindness and his brain repurposing the imaging portion of his brain to became a tool of echolocation, memory, and fine motor control/sensory was forced back into imaging isn't exactly "good" for you.
It was noted that when he was working or overwhelmed, he simply closed his eyes and he felt better.

I suppose - it might also depend on what the bullet hit.
Something like wood, stone or concrete would shatter the bullet, but one wonders if mud or water would only dent it.
Then, I'm no ballistic expert, so it's all really just speculation on my part.

Probably a bullet that ricocheted a couple of times before it hit him. After bouncing off of a few things, the bullet would probably just be a lump of metal to begin with.

That's my theory, anyway.

if a bullet hit something solid it shatters into pieces that sorta look like bent up Xacto knife blades. This is assuming typical war rifle ammo
