Gotta agree with you, I don't want to spend $500 on a pc when you can get most consoles for less then half the price of that.

And the fact that you gotta get better hardware over year or so to keep it top-notch.

You don't need to spend $1200 on a gaming PC. The hardware that's in consoles is over 5 years old at this point, and since many games are designed to be played on the consoles, a PC with comparable tech can run most games. Shouldn't have to spend more than $500-600 unless you want some kind of super powered rig capable of playing Crysis on max settings.
