anon (04/02/2015) [-] 50 kg isn't very farfetched, as they are both obese. You should look up some comparisons on google images. But I agree that powerlifting isn't healthy, especially not for the joints. Carrying that extra fat at all times definitely doesn't make it better, though. But no, it would require a considerable amount of extra fat for the man in my picture to end up with the saggy stomach and saggy moobs of the guy in the content. Your source seems to be a bit off, as an average 1,83 m tall man should be eating about 2500 kcal daily, while a power lifter of the same height should indeed be consuming about 3000 kcal. It's not that big of a difference, and definitely wouldn't result in the weight of the people in the content. As a reference, I'd like to point out the difference that about 50 kg makes for a person. The man I posted in the previous comment has a pretty low fat percentage (nowhere near a body builder, but still), which might be comparable to the woman in this picture at her lowest weight. See what difference 50 kg makes? It's not as much as you seem to think. Now, I was generalizing between the people in the content, and I agree that the man probably has a lower fat percentage than the woman. I'd say the man has a minimum of 30 kg extra over the leaner man I posted in my previous comment. You also have to consider that this woman in your picture is not a weightlifter and does not have a large amount of muscle unlike the 2 heavy weightlifters in the original picture. She looks like she is as big as the heavier weightlifter woman without having any of the muscle. It isn't a fair comparison because you are comparing a woman with a very large amount of muscle mass to weight loss progression of a woman who, in the last picture, does not have anywhere near even the muscle mass of the smaller female weightlifter. I also think the picture of the heavier man is a bit deceptive and makes it appear as if he has a huge gut because there is very little definition in his abs compiled with the bit of flab he has. I say this also because, if you look at his shape, his body gets a little narrower as you move from the chest down to the waist and if he was actually carrying around an extra 110 lbs of fat he would have a much wider waist. It is also hard to tell what the heavier woman's body looks like because of the black outfit on black background. There are a lot of weightlifter's who have deceptively fat looking bodies but they are solid as fuck because it is actually muscle and again, both of these do appear to have excess fat but I seriously doubt it is anywhere near as much as you are saying. | ||

anon (04/02/2015) [-] Them being obese doesn't have to do with them being healthy or making sure that they get enough calories. Only marathon-runners, cross-country skiiers and the like need to intake over 10 000 calories a day when they train, because they burn so many calories. A weightlifter practices anaerobic exercise, so they don't burn nearly as many calories, and mainly just need an increased intake of protein, some carbs due to the muscles needing extra glycogen, and vitamins and minerals. What you see is them simply not caring about their bodies because they kind of don't have to for their craft, even though a smaller body fat percentage would aid their training. Having that much fat does increase the resistance of your exercises unnecessarily. Imagine how much easier a 400 kg squat would be without the additional 50 kg of fat they're carrying. They likely have all the medical problems you get from being obese, such as heart issues, back issues and joint issues, which are all obviously very bad things when you're weightlifting for a living. In short, they don't have a legitimate excuse for being obese, and even though they don't care about their looks, it would aid their work and health to actually drop at least a bit of weight. Most powerlifters look more like this. Their huge size mainly comes from muscles and having a huge powerful core, rather than fat. I kind of doubt they are carrying an extra 50 kg (110 lb) of fat and most world class weighlifters end up with knee and back problems because they are constantly lifting an amount of weight that the human body is not meant to handle. They certainly are carrying some fat, which seems to be more apparent in the woman but this may simply be how she carries the fat, but I don't think it is nearly as much as you think because they are already rather bulky. If you take the man in the picture you posted and added around 15 lb of fat to him, he would probably look similar to the bulkier male weightlifter in the original picture. From my research, a training male weightlifter of 200 lbs would require a diet consisting of about 3000 calories daily to maintain weight. The average, healthy, 6' tall man weighs about 200 lbs and requires about 2000 calories daily to maintain that weight. Just from this, we know that a weightlifter requires at least a 50% higher caloric intake to maintain their size while training. That is before you consider that a 200 lbs weightlifter is probably not 6' tall and a 6' tall weightlifter would require a larger caloric intake because they would most likely weigh noticeably more. I would like to clarify that I don't think the two heavier weightlifters are lean but I also don't think they are carrying nearly as much fat as you seem to think they are carrying. I also wasn't making an excuse for them having extra body fat but rather explaining a possible cause of it which, if you have ever seen Olympic weightlifting, seems to be fairly common. They probably have a slightly higher caloric intake than they need and, over months or years of eating that much, it has caused them to have some excess fat. #213 -

| this is the reason why some teenagers off themselves, and we then get a bunch of fucking hypocritical idiots who say shit like "no, we're here to help you. we need to stop depression. why don't people communicate more?" Not all teenagers are whiny shits who do nothing but complain about how they got the wrong colored iphone for christmas. I've seen too many who have been put down by their parents because they think the way to motivate their kid to get better grades, is by telling them they're a piece of shit and can't compare to their siblings. Those are the same parents who think their parenting style is flawless, and therefore think they don't need to listen to what their fucking kid has to say. No, the issue here is that society tells you that it is alright to have problems and be different but a lot of people take this as it is alright to have problems and make them everyone else's problems as well and when everyone else starts ignoring you because you complain about every goddamn thing that happens to you you feel like society has abandoned you and you off yourself. I'm not saying there aren't bad parents out there because I think most parents are terrible at being parents and it has always been like that yet suddenly we have a bunch of teenagers with "issues" that want to kill themselves. We aren't helping them by babying them and I'm not saying we should physically or verbally abuse them but rather teach them to help themselves. Teenagers are so damn dependent on other people and are now growing up to be adults that can't function outside of their parent's house. This is why we have the fucking tumblr SJWs and feminists who want to fuck squirrels and hate all white men because they don't know how the fucking world works and need someone to blame. I'm not saying we should teach people to put their problems out on everyone else. All that annoys me is that there are parents who in fact, don't listen to their kids when they really should. It's possible to help someone, and teach them how the world works at the same time without causing them harm. | ||
