Don't say it like it's a bad thing. It's like having decorative wallpaper combined with fuzzy rugs. I'm guessing it also comes from the old days when our houses didn't have air conditioning, so we would hang rugs on walls to cover up any cracks, and keep the warmth in. They're also usually found by our beds, so that we don't have to worry about having the freezing cold wall beside it.

Nowadays it's basically just traditional for us, and it looks cozy.

They're Persian rugs, and it's for when we don't have enough space in the house for a large rug, so it's used as a wall decoration.
