Definitely. Well, I want a career in the Infantry first, but come retirement I'm moving to you guys. Yeah; whiners are even worse than we are. They should just accept they're stuck with us forever.

Good luck mate! I'm an infantry officer in the Army here myself, going to Ranger School on Sunday. I had the pleasure of meeting some of your guys while I was in Mexico doing a gig at the Mexican Academy (I believe it's called El Colegio Heroico de Mexico, I need to go through my stuff to remember), one of them had gone to ranger school too and said it was the worst experience of his life. Are you enlisted or an officer?
User avatar #123 - roninneko (02/20/2015) [-]
Finishing up a 4-year degree, so going Officer with that. I'm just waiting on my medical exam and job interview, and then I should be off to BOTC by July or August.

Well, try to have fun at Ranger school! Everything's worth something, right?
User avatar #124 - fightingirishman (02/20/2015) [-]
Absolutely! Best of luck to you as well, I hope you get to go!

I'd better. Joint Op meetup to kick Boko Haram in the testicles?
User avatar #126 - fightingirishman (02/20/2015) [-]
Sounds good to me, we can buy each other drinks after ;) I'm actually deploying elsewhere this summer though, but maybe we can once I get back!

Canada: no defensive use unless you can prove the other person had a gun, no castle doctrine, no carry (concealed or otherwise) except for employment purposes, special licensing for pistols and certain rifles, magazine limits on semi-autos (5 rounds on rifles, 10 on pistols)... that pretty much paints the picture.
User avatar #116 - fightingirishman (02/20/2015) [-]
Yeah fuck that shit. Come to America, we love you Canadians so long as you're not from Quebec and I think we can both agree on that

See, if I make it to retirement, I definitely plan on moving to Vermont. I'm currently stuck in Ontario, so NYS may be bad, but not 'Canada' bad.
User avatar #110 - fightingirishman (02/20/2015) [-]
Yeah I would highly recommend either Vermont or New Hampshire, they along with Maine are the only three states left that have decent gun laws. Of the three though VT or NH for sure. I don't really know the gun laws in Canada so I can't speak for them, how hard is it to own a weapon up there? I understand that you guys have insane amounts of WWII weapons for on the cheap (I was dumbfounded scrolling through prices for ammo and guns WWII era).

Also, sucks about Jew York State, man. My condolences.

Yeah I'm from Vermont originally which is like land of milk and honey for gun owners so it has taken some serious getting used to. Fortunately I also went to college in New York so it isn't a total shock.

As of right now a Glock 36, I use a outside the waistband holster and wear a fleece, jacket or long sleeve button up to cover up. I'm getting stationed to NY so my options were limited for weapon choice.
