I have experience witl logicalincrements, that's how I built my current PC.

As an eurofag, I can absolutely grant you that there is no way of getting that sort of computer for 400 Euro.

Mine was over 600 (excluding peripherals , hard drive, CD drive and OS and it still heats up like a volcano when running CIV V.

Anyway, you can argue whatever you want, but you can't beat the logic of someone who wants a no-worry toy to place in the living room and have a play with once and again together with a friend.

We were talking about $400, so it was implied the person in question lives in the US. But yeah, as a Euro you basically get buttfucked for prices. It's kinda like that in the UK too.
And yea I agree with your last comment.

"if you know where to buy parts you can build a Ferrari for 10 grand."
Yeah, man, that's some straight logic.

Please, do provide some examples as to where could the average Joe (or millions of them, for that matter) go buy PC parts at those prices.

MOB, GPU, CPU, RAM, case, power supply, OS, a nice 500 GB hard drive, a keyboard and a mouse. I might have forgotten something.
For 400 bucks.

And it has to run Battlefield 4 or some shit like that.

$452 dollar tier, would run BF4 at PS4 quality settings, at the same res. (900p for P4, 720p for Xbox one) at a solid frame rate.
$52 dollars over budget cause you could easily make that back by buying parts of ebay and shit.

You can buy them all on newegg or similar places, to find them put in newegg alternatives. Also www.reddit.com/r/buildapc/ and www.reddit.com/r/pcmasterrace/ are great places to find builds. I build my PC for £1000 but I am a full time programmer so I needed a powerful enough PC for that. For regular gaming at ultra it's really affordable, and since the price of games is astronomically cheaper than for console and the online is free, it may cost more to actually build than a console but over the course of the time, you'll save a lot more. I've bought over 173 games on steam, and I wouldn't say I've spent more than 500 dollars for those games.
