Forgot to mention that! Berries that grow like this are called "Aggregate berries" and they are all edible. Any berry that grows in clusters like this is edible.

Gooseberries are bigger. It's hard to tell the size in that picture, at least for me. Also gooseberries are a lot less sweet. Currents are almost sour tasting.
