That may be true but 1/4 of the game is just plain desert with a few weak monsters and some shitty loot while almost all of the land in fallout 3 is either friendly territory or shitloads of raiders mutants and other things trying to kill you, and also it varys more with the people instead of just NCR, Ceasar's legion, or the strip with some fiends, wastelanders, and gang members thrown in. Fallout 3 has alot more cities and groups to interact with like the Treeminders, the little lamplight children, megaton, The republic of dave, and not to mention the vault dwellers. Overall I believe Fallout New Vegas takes longer to complete and has alot more walking and exploring but has less variety in the NPCs and scenery

I honestly think this is a point where people can either like Fallout 3 or New Vegas. If you're somebody who likes a well-defined plot and characters along with a little bit more of a realistic situation, then New Vegas is probably for you. If you are somebody who likes variety, who likes finding strange and possibly hilarious situations, then Fallout 3 is for you.

I don't think it's as much of a "which one is better" question, I think it's more of a "which do you prefer" question.

I love both games, but I'm gonna take the stand in FNV's defense:

You say 1/4 of FNV is just plain desert, however, F3 suffers from the same problem. You look everywhere, and what you see? Piles of rubble and and rocky terrains. And really now, more cities? Yeah, it's unfortunate that most of these cities are demolished, and the only real cities are Megaton and Rivet City. Saying that the scenery doesn't work in FNV is a very weak arguement imo because after all, we ARE living in a post-apocalyptic wasteland. You can't really expect to see a lot of varieties of the scenery in this kind of world.

Less variety of NPC's? Wrong. Yeah, FNV has only three major factions; The Strip, The NCR and The Legion. However, it also has a bunch of different sub-factions, such as The Boomers, The Great Khans, The Powder Gang, The Brotherhood of Steel, Followers of the Apocalypse etc., and also the different town-factions, such as Goodsprings or Novac, not to mention all the different kinds of NPC's the DLC's offer. F3 has two major factions, The Brotherhood of Steel and The Enclave, and some different communities, but the difference between these factions and communities in FNV and F3 is that in FNV, working with some of the sub-factions and gaining their trust in FNV has an impact in the end fight between The NCR and The Legion, however in F3 the last fight is strictly between The Brotherhood of Steel and the Enclave.

I could point out a lot more, but I'm gonna sum it up with the DLC's. In short, FNV's DLC's are superior to F3's. They are bigger, offer more interesting characters (especially Old World Blues, the only DLC in F3 that could rival it is Point Lookout, and even that falls short) and a shitton of awesome weapons, compared to F3's mostly uninteresting DLC's like Operation Anchorage, The Pitt and Mothership Zeta which has characters that are bland and with plots that are boring.

Don't misunderstand, I love both games. I just think FNV is better in many ways than F3.

Technically new vegas is the remnants of van buren. Obsidian has some of the old black isle studio people in it and i guess they wanted a spiritual successor to fallout 2.

Because it's made from the blood and crushed dreams of 12 year old girls.
User avatar #100 - Nitsuin (07/17/2013) [-]
Because it is a necessity and it does require a bit more work to create than most other liquids (Including the containers for them) Also the fact that many printers are proprietary and will only take one type of cartridge so as to keep others from stealing their repeated sales. Which also allows for them to spike the prices on the ink. Also, in most situations a person will only need to buy a printer once so to keep themselves in business they do as I mention previously.
