how long did it take to lose that?
I have never been fat, but I started getting amazing results after I completely reshaped my diet and dropped a lot of snacks and alcohol.
I always lifted moderately heavy and was getting stronger (I can relatively easily bench 100kg after some warmup or curl 25 kg db), but not much more muscular.

Food sources and eating patterns are the most important thing at the end.

I started going to the gym sometime around the end of the first week of March. When you're as heavy as I am, it really doesn't take much effort to lose weight at the beginning. I could slowly lose weight just by dieting without even working out if I wanted to. I actually just set up my first planned workout schedule today, I'd been going to the gym 4-5 times a week, doing cardio and sometimes some light/moderate lifting (for my size, for a smaller person it could seem kind of heavy, but I've got a good bit of natural strength). My plan now is 6 days a week, cardio on 4 and lifting on 5 (no cardio the day after leg day). My roommate is an experienced lifter, which is helpful for guidance.

My diet doesn't involve any set plan. Breakfast is usually a weight watchers cereal, lunch and dinner are some combination of fish, chicken, lean red meat, whole grain pasta, fruit, or veggies. Snacks are usually celery with peanut butter, carrots with hummus, or whole, unsalted almonds. I've also been drinking a lot of black coffee, which is both very low in calories and works as an appetite suppressant.

It's been around 4 weeks to drop what I have, I'm hoping to be under 300 by the end of April.

If you bothered to read all of this, good for you haha. I'm always open to any suggestions as to what specifically helped other people as well.

Thing is though, there are assholes everywhere. There seems to be a whole lot less judgemental ones in the gym, but seeing as it's a place they'd expect judgement the overwieght people become hyper alert or hypersensitive to it. They'd probably receive ten times more judgemental looks or comments just walking down the street but won't notice as they aren't looking out for it like they would be in the gym. When I was losing weight I found people actually smiled at me more or were more positive towards me in the gym. Most of the people there had probably been in my shoes at some stage and know that I'm trying my best. And now I do the same to others who I see come into my gym for the first time. I smile and give them small encouragements and it warms my heart to see them each day they come back.
