Yeah but if somebody works 12 hours a day 6 days a week, they probably don't want to spend their one day at the library learning things that probably won't even get them a job, but just "might" get them one, they want to relax or spend the time with their family.

My moms from Brooklyn NYC. She lived on the streets. I mean that literally. She got backwater jobs to get by at the age of 15 living with friends. She never finished HS and only later in life took care of that. Around 30 she was doing as you said, but she got up and did something about it. She had us by this time with my dad who was not well to do either. All I am saying is, where there is a will there is a way. Would you not agree that is someone wants to better themselves, that they have the power to try? The pursuit of happiness is exactly that my friend.

I'd spend that extra day just for that chance to make my families life better, even if they hated me. But that's the choice to make.

Look man, I know people that just aren't very bright, that don't have the capability to really learn about technology which stops them from doing certain jobs, there are just people that can't really do jobs that aren't physical like construction and whatnot, I know people that work 12 hours a day doing very tiring jobs and they really don't know much else, and to tell them to just go to a library and learn random shit about possible jobs just wouldn't be practical.

and I say 11 hours isn't a big deal because it's pretty normal

Normal, but considering the education system, that's only normal because most people are like you said: Not all that smart. All I am saying is that, with conviction and ambition comes reward. Anybody that labels themselves as unable, will therefore be so.

I see what you are saying though, trust me. My dads a bluecollar worker through and through, and can't do a damn thing with a PC. But he learned how to rebuild a boat engine from parts, and can splice power cables etc... like a sonnavabitch. lol

Not everybody can, some people only know how to cut grass, and what if nobody ever cut grass? some people need to do it.

I don't know why people are thumbing me down, I'm not wrong, this kid is trying to act like his life is hard when he only works 11 hours for just 21 days and acts like that is a lot.
User avatar #156 - TwiztidNinja (08/07/2014) [-]
21 days straight? do you undersand that?
That is 3 weeks work straight followed by a week of down time for r&r.
Just to put things in perspective, on your extremely hard working days do you have a person assigned to your position outside the boiler to make sure you have not died from exhaustion on the job?

Seriously mate, just because you work hard does not mean others do not work a hell of a lot harder to get where they are.

Do i need to mention the blood, sweat and tears it actually takes to get a permanent job position in this industry that pays over 200 grand a year?
It is not like i landed out of daddys wallet into a great life.
I work hard, and i live comfortably because of it.

Your bitching about people who have it better than you is just that, you being a little bitch.
User avatar #157 - capslockrage (08/07/2014) [-]
What?

I worked for over 300 days straight for 13 hours a day, I have it just fine, I have had my job for 2 years and I'm about to buy my own house straight up, AND I get to enjoy my job, I wasn't speaking on my behalf when I was making these points, I was speaking for other people, I'm not bitching at all, just saying that many people have it a lot harder.

I mean really, 21 days is nothing.
User avatar #158 - TwiztidNinja (08/07/2014) [-]
So how often in these hard core 13 hour days are you at risk of death?

Do 11 hours of my job and tell me its not hard work again, i double dare you.
User avatar #159 - capslockrage (08/07/2014) [-]
Oh please, you're always at risk of death, stop being a pussy.

It's not like you were fighting at war or being a cop/firefighter.

Stop trying to make your averagely difficult job seem like it's the toughest thing ever.
User avatar #129 - exarzero (08/06/2014) [-]
I agree with what your point is, but telling TwiztidNinja that 11 hours is not a big deal made you look bad. Plus I mow my own lawn. . . Don't white knight online, or overprotect in real life either. I used to do that, and I lost my fiance and had no respect for a long time. And while I agree 11 hours sucks, I would defend your right to do it as well, because as you said, it's more free to be able to do something rather than not. Thumbs for you.

Defending the poor is one thing, but saying that that's all they can do is an insult to them even. Anybody and I do mean anybody can go to a library or something of that nature and learn at least a little. If someone is working that many hours and STILL poor they have a shitty job, and while I feel for them, getting educated would fix that. (to a point). G'day.
User avatar #131 - capslockrage (08/06/2014) [-]

LOL. I posted that on my facebook wall.

it's gonna be sooooooo satisfying the day that she's too decrepit to care for herself and you get to put her in whatever nursing home you want. my mom is headed down the same road.

you sleep in the bed you make, and maybe Bashar will visit her when she's alone in this world.

My friend, we just have different versions of bad **** . My aunt was mentally disabled and I had to help take care of her until he day she passed away. It was very, very hard to do this.
Your father leaving you is sad beyond reason as well, and I think my mother only stayed because she has already tested the streets once.

Watch the move:

Kate and leopold, and Hitch.

Use the good parts from that, and the former movie is better.

After that, be completely honest with the girl and yourself.

If that failed, repeat! Worked for me. ^_^

Wait, wat. No, I'm just kidding, that sounds pretty good. I try to be honest with girls, but I'm really shy and a little misogynistic, so I make presumptions about people, which I should not do.
