wanna know why we know hes wrong.
the only places in the whole continent of Africa that have city buildings are the places inhabited by white people and close to Europe.
while the places where white man stray from are still filled with people using primitive methods of living.
i mean even today they still think fucking a virgin cures aids.
But whatever im white so my say doesn't matter.

No, you are just ignorant. That's different.
Unlike you, who never left USA, I've been to Africa quite a bit, on business.
And in richer cities business is thriving and its driven by black people, not white.
I've been to Adis Ababa, Abidjan, Lagos and Abuja, and out of them only Lagos didn't feel safe. And I've barely ever seen white people. (well you see a lot of sailors in Abidjan, but they hardly drive an economy... except for prostitutes)
And yeah, some people still live in really primitive conditions.
Ever been to Appalachians? Ever seen how white people live there? How about Romania? How about mountain areas of Spain? How about poorer parts of Newcastle? I have, and fuck if they live any better than african tribesmen.

im just ignorant ay?
Been to the Appalachians actually. Buddy goes to college up there. When i visited me, him, and his gf went on a hiking trip for spring break. we also did some ax throwing which was pretty sweet.
They live pretty well. not a lot of businesses like walmart but there is some in the towns.
unless your refering to the rednecks. (which by the way, these guys were the original.)
Then even then they are not primitive like what you claimed them to be. They not using sticks and stones.
Not sure if you looked at where i live but those mountains are only a few hours away from me.

This is why I said you are ignorant.
Africans are not using sticks and stones either. Except for tourism reasons, when they dress up, pick up spears and pose for a few hours and earn themselves their country's month pay.
While there are some, very few, who still live in their ancient tribal ways, its done completely on purpose. Like Amish. They like a few days walk from a major city and if they wanted to they could easily sell a few cows and buy more modern shit.
Most of them use modern machined tools, hell half the villages I've visited had machine shops. they keep stuff in cheap plastic containers, and wear cheap t-shirts.
Why? Because raising a few goats and selling them and buying all that stuff takes hell of a lot less effort than actually making containers, tools and clothes.
So. yeah, ignorant. You have no idea how Africans live, except what you constructed from your very carefully maintained internet bubble and casual tv watching, yet you decided they live like primitives, without even thinking about it, and realizing logically how stupid that idea is.

And yeah, rednecks. And folks living in trailers on the outskirts of dirt poor mining towns. Often without electricity, almost always without muncipal water.Often old crappy trailer house being patched up with sheets of cheep aluminum and plywood.
Yeah, those people, in the very heart of america, living no better than the poor in Africa.

Ethiopia was doing fine until repeted arab invasions.
Then repeated Italian invasions as recently as WW2, which completely wiped out their infrastructure.
Then constant clashes with the muslims.
Then invasion from muslim, soviet backed Somalia. Which wrecked their infrastructure again, which they were building with loans from world bank, so they ended up with no electricity, no roads, and loans to pay back.
You can't say "Ethiopia is a shithole because its people are black"
What do you think your country would be like if it was invaded every 20 years and had everything wrecked.
They had 35 years of peace for the first time in 300 years, and they are now one of the top five fastest growing economies in the world.

p much that
ethiopia, kenya, south africa, botswana and namibia are some of the fastest growing economies in the world, not to mention that botswana and namibia are already on tier with germany when it comes to living qualities

Well. No they are not. But they do have pockets of affluence, usually along the coast, in richer areas where life is pretty much on par with Europe.
But they are going to get there, especially once work force becomes too expensive in asia, major corps will be moving to Africa for cheap labor.

I feel like I should have included that if you look away from the tribal areas then those countries are pretty much on par with europe, but it wouldn't be correct since they're part of the country too

I still do think, however, that anyone would be able to live pretty comfortably in namibia and botswana as long as they worked a decent job there.

Don't forget the Côte d'Ivoire. I've spent a month there in Abidjan back in 2014, and I was surprised at how it felt. The basic feel of the place reminded me of south Spain or south Italy, and even some places back in Bosnia.
I was also surprised how motivated people I worked with were. I was teaching a group of their IT techies how to maintain the system we installed, and fuck me if they didn't pick it up faster than anyone else I've ever worked with. Except, maybe, japanese.
Considering they make about five times as much as national average, I guess learning every bit and making sure you stay employed is very important.

I never said anything about black people making shit countries. I just said that right now, theese countries are shit. And that guy tried to say they weren't. And a reminder that france, germany and britan has gone 70 years without a war. I think that is a new record too.

Fair enough.
Though some of them aren't as bad as you think. Atleast not in the coastal and more economically alive areas.
And it is, and EU and its predecessors have a lot to do with that. But I will note one thing. I'm originally from Bosnia. I know the difference between going to war with another country, with more or less equal power, and being overrun by much more powerful military. Especially if that military is aiming to hurt your economy.

In order to lose one pound of fat you need to use 3500 calories (aka burn 3500 calories) and a pound of butter contains 4000 calories

This person believe that if you eat a pound of butter you USE 4000 calories, but in reality you GAIN 4000 calories

They got mixed up with the wording so they believed by eating a pound of butter you could lose weight, but in reality you would only lose like ~1 calorie from eating the butter
#32 - innocentbabies (06/07/2016) [-]
>>#21, not quite, from what I can tell.

He's claiming a discrepancy between conservation of mass and energy. Wherein 3500 Calories exist in one pound of adipose tissue, while a pound of butter contains 4000 Calories.

The idea is that, by eating a pound of butter, you should gain that one pound conservation of mass , however, because you're only gaining one pound, you've gained 3500 Calories.

For anyone who doesn't quite get it, the energy is being stored chemically, not as mass, any more mass required will be taken into the body some other way, primarily through the air. If it were stored as mass, mass-energy equivalence would have to be used, in which case both numbers are really fucking wrong.

I mean, I think that's what's being said, but it's incoherent enough that you might be right. Of course, I'm unsure whether he's joking or just a moron, it's one of those that goes either way.
