They do in ours, too.
But factoring out the suicides, you've still got a gun murder rate 18 times that of ours.

you never tried to buy a gun in america have you? to sell guns to the public you must have an FFL heres the info on how to obtain one www.atf.gov/firearms/how-to/become-an-ffl.htm now to buy one you can either go to a licensed store and go through a back ground check which checks to see if you have ever been institutionalized , are a convicted felon , convicted of domestic abuse, or have ever been deemed mental incomitant. then you have to wait for that to come back it could take a week it could take 1 hour and then you can buy you gun and be on your way. the second method is a private sale i as a citizen sell my gun to another citizen and thats that but i belive it is a federal crime to knowingly sell a firearm to a criminal or other person stated above. so its not that easy.

It's honestly the people, not the system. In Canada we have less strict laws and honestly acquiring a gun is far from the hoops they make you jump through in America. (My friend has only ever had issues getting guns shipped from the US) And we have less issues with guns even with the more relaxed system. They need to fix the people first.

He definitely wouldn't want you to grieve forever, so try be the best person you can and remember the good times

I can promise that your father's proud of you, even if he can't say it. He's always been proud of you bro, you're his son. I'm not going to tell you to forget about him and try to move on from him like he's an ex-girlfriend. Don't. Keep him in mind, he's your father for fucks sake, but just know that he wouldn't be proud if you were to let the end of his life ruin the rest of yours.
I've never lost a parent, no. I can't relate to what you're feeling, it's your own personal feelings. But don't think that you're "burdening" your family by talking to them, because I'm sure they have similar feelings.
What I would do is I'd try to do even more things that would make him proud of me, I'd spend every single day thinking of what he'd say to me when I needed advice, what he'd do in the situation that I was in, and how he'd act around everyone else. Don't become your father, but recognize him, you know?
It won't be easy to get over, but you can do it. Just like I'm sure that your father could.
