character stats doesn't really matter here
you could have base stats to use the rifle spear and still deal the same damage
the reason the damage is that high it's because the rifle spear with + arcane damage blood gem (not %, it has to be an flat ammount)
the damage from arcane procs in all the pellets from the shot istead of the shot itself
you have to keep in mind that this is an bug and it'll be patched ASAP day 25 if i remember correctly

I eventually got to killing Amygdala (after my 19th attempt) using Ludwig's blade and my stats are though the roof and I STILL wasn't doing damage like that
