Yeah, I feel you. I've had neck pain before. My eyes hurt because I have a lot that make me move my eyes. Sometimes I'll have to move my fingers or toes a lot and those will start to hurt pretty bad. And you try to explain it to people, but there's no good way to explain it and nobody will ever be able to stand. You can try to understand blind people by closing your eyes, or amputees by not using an arm or leg for a while (granted, TS is nowhere near as bad as those, but at least people can understand those things), but normal people can't understand what it's like to NEED to wrench your head around several times in a row.

I found one way to kind of show people how it feels.
It's not quite right, but it's the most similar thing I've managed to find.
Get them to put a rubber band on their ear, make sure it's not loose and tell them they can't touch it.
If you try it you'd feel how different it is but if someone really wants to know then that's the closest approximation you can give them That I know of

The feminists there most definitely do get up in arms about it, sometimes literally. I can't find a link but someone will probably post one in reply I didn't try very hard and while I've never seen any first world (non insane bitchy) feminists go up in arms I've seen them using various public forums such as schools & organisations to call for the support of the women who are truly oppressed, and they call for support from both girls and boys
