starlordoriginal (03/19/2015) [-] Okay, so imagine this. I have Trostani, Ajani, and Rhox Faithmender on the field. In my hand is Voracious Worm. I use Ajani's -8 to gain 100 life, which is doubled to 200 by Rhox. I play Voracious Worm which comes in with X 1/1 counters where X is the amount of life I've gained this turn. VW comes in as a 202/202, Trostani's effect gains me 202 life which is doubled by Rhox, so I gain 404 fucks not found . At the end of the turn my Dimir buddy was looking at a 202/202 creature and I just gained 604 life all in one turn....and it only cost me 2 mana. jesus Christ that's pretty intense. you're not fucking around with the life gain are ya? #262 -

godofhorizons (03/19/2015) [-] If you truly want to be a huuuge dickhead while playing multiplayer EDH let me give you a few card combos that will be a huge hit with your friends And by that I mean they'll want to murder you I have all the following cards in my deck Commander: Kruphix, God of Horizons This works with either a huge pool of mana thanks to Kruphix, or an infinite mana combo Countering: Spell Burst Guile Decree of Silence Stealing spells: Uyo, Silent Prophet Jace's Mindseeker Chancellor of the Spires Echo Mage Stealing creatures: Beguiler of wills Gather Specimens Being a general dickhead: Curse of the Swine Cyclonic Rift Stealing opponents deck: Jace the Architect of Thought combine this with clock spinning, steal opponents planeswalkers and use their own ultimate against them, or if they already have a planeswalker out just outright destroy him or my personal favorite: Stealing your opponents field: Memnarch It would probably just be easier if everyone just turned their permanents around so that they're facing towards them. I just think it's fun building up such a massive life total the other person just tries as hard as they can but nothing they do even significantly effects me. True, that shit never gets old. I once pulled a conjurer's closet-archaeomancer combo with various counters, and I watched as my friend attempted to fight whilst having everything repeatedly countered and every creature of his failing to enter the field. starlordoriginal (03/19/2015) [-] You and my buddy would become great friends, since you both enjoy playing simply to annoy the other. XD You may or may not have read the rest of the comments around this one, but my deck started off White/Black exile/instakill with a small amount of life gain mixed in (mainly because of extort). Eventually I just went, hey this lifegain is really working for me, I want more. So I collected every life gain card I could find and threw it all together (amazing deck building strategy, I know) and somehow, out popped a really great deck. I've since then fine tuned it, added green to the mix when I discovered it's life gain capabilities (glad I did, because I have Ajani, Mentor of Heroes now). Mostly it uses Orzhov cards though, just the life stealing ones like Debt to the Deathless, anything with extort, and some revivals like Obzedat's Aid. I also have Elixir of Immortality (which is always fun to use right after my Dimir friend has milled 90% of my deck) That plus I found a way to mix life gain and token spamming into one deck (Angelic Accord+Trostani, Selesnya's Voice). I love my deck. Sound like a cool bro , I'd probably get along with him pretty well. One of my friends likes to punch me in the shoulder when I mess with his stuff, so I try not to sit next to him. But anyway, the place I go play magic with my friends regularly is called "The Gamers Den", and I remember the first time I went with my friends. By this time, I had been playing for a few weeks so understood the basics, and there was this guy there whom we played a few games with; dude was smart, he was doing things I couldn't even begin to comprehend with his deck at the time. Him, and my friends took me up to the front counter and all of them started picking out cards for me, and taking out cards that didn't need to be there it was an intro deck from ravnica I believe , and thus the first transformation occurred. I discovered at the time that I really digged Counterspell I got me the one with old artwork, I run just about anything I find with no regards to its legality. I just don't play tournaments and other counters. So, lo and behold my fondness for countering and murdering was born. I usually dig combining that with combos that let me manipulate the hands of my opponents, mainly discard, but lately I've been leaning towards milling because I think its hilarious. But yeah, that's how I found my play style, not to interesting but fun for me remember. Sorry bout the long post bro, talking about stuff like this is usually pretty fun for me #310 -

He says the toughest challenge to beating me is that playing a Dimir he looks to find the "keystone" card of my deck and get rid of it, but apparently I have no keystone card, and so many possible combos that when he gets rid of one plan, I have 20 backups. I must say he's not wrong. Impressive, thinking that far ahead. My first deck was a dimir devotion my buddy gave to me. I've since changed from that to a discard, and now to my mill with a splash of green. I'm generally not to good at the game, so I spend my time sitting back waiting for the right time to be a prick; I play for shenanigans not victory. not technically dimir because I added green strictly for damage prevention, but I like to stick to what I know, and that's black blue bullshit #157 -
