Then my mother's beagle (you can see a tiny, tiny bit of her in this photo) tried to catch a bite of the treat, but ended up bopping it with her snout and it landed in a bucket of water.
I got her another, then looked up to see my husky, ears-deep in the bucket, snatching up the treat she missed from the very bottom.
I threw another in on purpose, and he retrieved that too.
Just to fuck with him a bit and see what would happen, I threw a rock, maybe about the size of a walnut.
He took it out, walked over to me, and put it down at my feet.
I figured after that, he wouldn't be interested anymore, since there was no more reward...but when I threw another rock in, he got that one for me too. And the next. All kinds of rocks of all different sizes, every time, for as long as I would do it.
I really don't know why it amused him so much.
I'm really not sure why it amused me so much.
But it was definitely unusual.

As the basic job description of a husky, they usually won't.
You throw a stick and sure, they might chase it to determine what it is, then sniff it, possibly piss on it and go about their business.
So the fact that mine fetches rocks - out of a bucket of water - is just a little...peculiar, I guess.

That is actually all husky genes though!
Wolves never have blue eyes, even though liars will claim they do. Even a dog who is half wolf or more will very, VERY rarely have blue eyes.
This is my friend's dog. He's 70% timber wolf; a rescue actually. I love him to death; even though he is a LOT harder to take care of, he is a rare case in which despite having a good amount of wolf in him, he's actually a very social, lovable, friendly animal most are very shy and skittish .
To me, at least. He's not blindly trusting and if he doesn't like someone, he just won't go near them, though. It surprised me the first time I saw him brush someone off when he's always been so affectionate with me from the moment I met him.
As you can see, wolfies have pretty golden yellow, or sometimes hazel, or even topaz-orange eyes.

Like 90%. His mom was a low-content and his dad was a pure husky, so he looks like an exotic version of a normal husky, who happens to be twice the size of one. You can see how soft and doggy his eyes look here, brown included.

Nova's a surprisingly lazy old fart and won't really play with the other dogs much, but he stood guard over those pups like a sentry when they were tiny little newborns.
He's a bit of a prude when it comes to other animals, but he's a very loyal prude.

His name is Nova. He's mostly Siberian Husky with a tiny bit of Gray Wolf. I used to think he had a lot more wolf in him than he actually does, but he's just an overgrown husky mix.
That's a good thing, because if he really had as much wolf in him as I first believed he did, I'd have been SO in over my head. He was enough of a handful as it was, but he's such a good boy. < 3
He is currently seven years old now and definitely still my best bro. His daughter and granddaughter are like kids to me as well.
Huskies aren't the breed for everyone, but if you're devoted enough, they are some of the most unique creatures you could possibly have a bond with.

As for cuddlers, this is my cuddle-bug. She's not related to him like my other two huskies (who also love to curl up next to, or on me) but she is the most stupidly cuddly animal I have ever met.
Since I've had her, I can't remember a time I've slept without a soft, fuzzy, silky 65 pound dog pressed up against me with her big fluffy head and one leg reaching across me to hold on and make sure I don't go anywhere. It's safe to say I never get cold. She's half Siberian husky and half German shepherd.

He's a big easy-going sweetie who won't as much as look people in the eye (and everyone wants to, because of his beautiful bi-colored eyes and he'll just keep turning his head away) because he's such a big passive baby.
So if you hug him, he mostly seems a little sad and apologetic; like he wants to know what he did wrong. You know the act - that look dogs get when they know they're going to be in trouble. So rather than hugs for my own benefit, his favorite is ear and chest scratchies.
You're definitely right about how soft he is - and that plush coat of his is so thick and fluffy, you can dig your fingers right down into it before you even find a dog underneath all of it. Not gonna lie, he's probably the best bud I've ever had. c:
One thing I CAN do, is carry his 90 pound butt around like I did back when he was a puppy. He loves it and goes right to sleep if I hold him long enough.
Lucky. I want a girlfriend too. whynotboth.png
