- As a teacher it angers me so much that teachers and professors…
A student here. I pay 800 in books for a semester of just 4 subjects. Plus a bag of supplies for the nursing program. It sucks, but that's the system. I need a degree to be able to work if I stay as a ER Tech or Floor Tech I will never make any real money.
No I know exactly what you mean, I was a student too. Luckily never met a professor that made me buy their own book, maybe read their own articles, but I think that is excellent since they will be capable of giving you a lot of insight in the subject and perfectly answer any questions you may have. In Spain where the education is about 1000$ a semester I did buy a few books but it was always recommended, and they didn't serve really any purpose if your only goal was to pass the exam, they would just go more in depth in the subject. In the US where the education was 10000$ a semester I did have to buy books, but luckily the second hand system works very well, and at the end I got buyback for more than the price I paid in amazon.
Sometimes the book is smaller and better than the text.
I'm willing to bet this is fake
That pic might be, but.. no, college instructors can make it mandatory to buy
book for the class. I had to for my MAT102 class about a year ago.
I've luckily only had one teacher assign her own book. She was great though, because she didn't brag about the book, or even mention that she wrote it, she just gave us all a PDF and told us to read a particular chapter and answer some questions.
My sustainable energy prof did that. He was alright. What pisses my off is the Health book which is:
-University Special Edition (After buying which he said that the outdated regular one would've been fine)
-$80, with a buyback of $38
-The most unused resource of the semester.

Yeah, maybe I was a tad extreme. But it still wouldn't be an easy feat.
Easy? No. But a child who knows where to point the finger towards other radicals? A child who understands implicitly the dangers of radicalisation and how it affects them, and who has embraced superior western ideologies of fairness, freedom, equality, tolerance, etc... that is a valuable weapon in the war against aggressive Islam.
Easy, no. The right choice? No.
The moral choice? Yea.
This is one of those things that you're gonna regret trying, but won't regret doing.

He's not complaining so much as pointing out a fairly common (and useful) comic technique. Saves time and good for short panels like this. Granted if you draw something more fancy you might not want to do so as often.
Apparently I fucked up.
I've been discovering recently that if I'm not careful, I am actually kind of an asshole.
- I'm not yet in a stage of my life in which I can afford Winnie…
