Just keep in mind to actually buy higher spec speakers than it already has.

Keep this in mind too:
Low impedance (8-32 Öhms) for portable use.
Look for as wide as possible frequencies (Hz & kHz), this determines how low and high the sound can be produced by the speakers. Sennheiser HD650 goes from 10Hz to 39,5kHz.

This is a good read about it:

What you could do is buy the Marshall Black's and some 40mm aftermarket speakers, and mod them into the housing. That way you get the beautiful Marshall's with high specs.
You'd have to be handy-dandy with tinkering though, or have a friend that can do it for you.

They're cheaper, but also more cheaply built with a lot more plastics (and Skullcandy's are prone to breaking), so I wouldn't recommend them seeing how the Hz-range isn't much better.

You're best off looking for Sennheiser's if looks don't matter too much.
If you're looking for headphones that have a "rock"-feel to them like Marshall you could look into Grado SR80i, but those have the same frequency range as the Marshall's.

I'm starting to think you either choose looks (Marshall, Grado etc) or specs (Sennheiser, Phillips)

well looks is always a factor, honestly. its that for my electric drum kit i use a marshall amp, and the amps are so damn good, so i just figured these headphones would be great

They're from the Marshall Major line, I'm guessing they're best for listening to blues, rock and everything that developed from those genres.

They're about $/€100,-

The comfort is good, though the earpieces are a bit small and there's a coil in the wire so it doesn't get tangled. The latter I like very much.
It has a quite mediocre 20-20000 Hz range though and the power output (20mW) is nothing to write home about either, you can get much better for that kind of cash.

compared to skullcandy fix in ear buds, how much better are they, or well thats not fair because one is in ear and the other is over ear, how about compared to skullcandy G.I's?
