I just find it funny that the studio [white fox] did this loli fest and one of the more bloody shows this season...then again if a studio can get work it'll do the work...like the studio that did AIURA and woosers hand to mouth life is also doing the animated version of terraformars, or as it has been clearly pointed out in every comment section ever, censor festival of roaches

Then again, I am just a simple cajun man, so my "global news" consists of stories about hunting and alligator sightings, so what do I know?

It's not uncommon for referees to give yellow cards to players for faking injuries though.
User avatar #21 - emprex (10/22/2014) [-]
I haven't seen cards for faking injuries. I've seen cards for diving although inconsistently , but not for faking injuries. It would be hard for a ref to book a player for faking an injury because who is to say the player didn't pick up a knock

it was Danny Trejo. Can't find the exact quote right now.
User avatar #50 - mutantpanda (08/30/2014) [-]
There was another actor who had a clause in his contract that if he did his own stunts they would still employ stuntmen as if he didn't.
User avatar #94 - killthebilly (08/30/2014) [-]
yea, but he's not just talking about the stuntmen.. also about everyone else on the shoot.
User avatar #22 - thebacondroid (08/29/2014) [-]
Something like "I'm not going to risk 80 people losing their jobs just to show I have big balls"
User avatar #23 - killthebilly (08/29/2014) [-]
yep, something like that
User avatar #26 - lucariopwnz (08/29/2014) [-]
I don't think its that they want to show they have big balls... I think its that the stunts are like the funnest part of acting! Think about it, jumping off cars or out of planes, crazy fight scenes, being launched through the air, etc. That's all awesome as shit stuff and if I were an actor I damn well would do my own stunts.
User avatar #67 - mrdrpage (08/30/2014) [-]
As a member of SAG (Screen Actor's Guild),
I can assure you that you doing your own stunts is not always up to you. Your agent will specify in your contract, or the people up at SAG if you're valuable enough, that you are not to do your own stunts. Robert Downey Jr. and Danny Trejo are on a completely different level of stardom than the lady who voiced Mulan that we don't even have a name for in the content without looking it up. I'm sure RBJ would do his own stunts if it was up to him. He seems like the adventurous type.
User avatar #27 - killthebilly (08/29/2014) [-]
of course... but Danny Trejo said that he won't risk 80 peoples jobs, just so he can have "fun" risking his health. If he gets hurt, the film gets cancelled, and lots of people lose money.
So what he's saying is that he's not selfish, by not doing his own stunts. Or something along those lines.
#59 - angelusprimus (08/30/2014) [-]
Danny Trejo makes action movies as main star and/or main cast.
If he gets injured it can badly effect the shooting time, which then to save the money on the production, first thing producers do is fire bunch of low level employees, cut a second or third team for example. IF he gets hurt BAD they close the movie.
Tv show does not work that way. If she gets hurt they simply continue production of the series around her, filming scenes from next episodes and simpler scenes. And if she is hurt bad, every character has an exit "back door" and would replace her with a similar character.
User avatar #60 - kerfufflemachtwo (08/30/2014) [-]
Jackie Chan did his own stunts.

And he did movies.
#62 - angelusprimus (08/30/2014) [-]
In Hong Kong.
With cost of production of entire movie less then an single episode of an american TV show, and no investment insurance that would quardruple if he does his own stunts.
User avatar #63 - kerfufflemachtwo (08/30/2014) [-]
Uh, no. He did his own stunts for many movies he did here in the US. Big name movies, too.
#65 - angelusprimus (08/30/2014) [-]
After he made his name in Asia by doing his own dangerous stunts. After reunion of Hong Kong and China when having him as an actor and a producer in the movie opens 400 million plus Chinese market, and he is well known for continuing to film even when badly hurt.
Risk benefit calculation. He might get hurt, but if he does he will probably continue filming not go to bed for three months like american actor, and by him participating in the movie you get access to 2nd largest market in the world, which is usually only open to a very few foreign movies a year.
Investors are willing to take a chance on that.
User avatar #66 - kerfufflemachtwo (08/30/2014) [-]
Okay.

I don't see what that has to do with me pointing out that some movie actors do perform their own stunts.
#68 - angelusprimus (08/30/2014) [-]
Because its rare for very good reasons.
No one wants to invest millions of dollars in a production that could fall apart because some spoiled star insists on doing his own stunts and then hurts his back.

Awhile back some group, don't remember who, made a youtube video comparing two nickelback songs. They played one right after the other. In the video they sounded almost exactly the same, except with some different words. The video spread quickly and people started to hate on nickelback for it, until it just became a thing to do for everyone. Eventually the group who made the original video admitted that they editted the two songs to make them sound more alike (nickelback actually does have some variety) but by then the damage was done.
#37 - xcoreyx (08/29/2014) [-]
It's shitty generic rock. Every song sounds the same and it's just not well-made music.
User avatar #35 - sockprague (08/29/2014) [-]
It's really polished, doesn't really fit a "rock" image. They spend a lot of time making sure each track is perfect. It comes across as contrived and forced. It doesn't help that they are kinda samey and the lead singers voice becomes grating if you hear it often. And when this bandwagon started they had a lot of radio play.
#33 - ohsopainful (08/29/2014) [-]
you just said why yourself.

its a bandwagon. so naturally they are going to get a lot more hate than less popular bands. even though many of the haters have no idea why they hate them

personally i think they kinda suck. but thats because my music preference is much heavier.
