The new Fate/Stay Night anime adaptation is, in my opinion, brilliantly done. I judge this by the simple fact that I actually finished the first 13 episodes of it without even forcing myself, while for almost every VN to anime adaptation ever I drop the anime in the first 6 eps.

(I usually drop them because of how crap the adaptations always feel in comparison to the VN. Even Clannad's anime I dropped. Clannad's anime totally fucked over the main plot point of the VN by combining almost all the routes into one time-line though. )

Persona is not a VN. It's completely an RPG. And, excluding the Persona 3 movies, the anime versions of Persona do not appeal to me at all either. The main appeal in Persona is the gigantic variety of shit you can do outside of the dungeon-crawling area, which makes the actual dungeon-crawling not seem tedious Persona 3 FES's extra story really fucked up on this one, as it's about 70 hours straight of dungeon crawling. .

I don't regret reading the novels at all. Majutsu no Index is easily one of my top 3 favourite novel series I've ever read.

I do read. I read a fuckload. In the last 9 months I've read easily over 20 000 pages of books. Some of those I pirated, to be honest, since I'm not 21 yet so I'm not legally capable of having a credit card to buy them through amazon or whatever. Planning to eventually buy the majority of those, once I have the money to do so. (not all, some of them sucked balls) although the majority were free to begin with.

Also, about video games, about the only genre I actually play, with a few exceptions, is the VN genre, and VN's are more like books than games.

I went back and added to my sentences a lot after typing them, so they may seem like incoherent rambling, but I can't be bothered proofreading them.

Here's an idea. A crazy one, but bear with me... try not playing them then. It may feel like you're gonna die without video games, but science has confirmed that they are not essential for survival. I mean, shit, if you're making so little money, why the fuck are you sitting around playing vidya? Find a second job. If you already have a second job, spend your free time looking for ways to get out of the shithole you're apparently stuck in. Read books or some shit.

Video games are time sinks for people wealthy enough to have time to waste. If you're really that broke (but can somehow still afford internet/a computer good enough to actually play modern games/the time to both play video games and screw around on FJ instead of working, but that's none of my business), you are not a person wealthy enough to have time to waste. Same goes for anyone else who makes the "I'm too poor to buy video games" argument.

Video games are not a basic human right. You are not entitled to them. There are plenty of other ways to entertain yourself that are completely free.

I'm currently going to university. My FAMILY isn't poor, but anything I use (food, clothes, rent for having a place to stay etc.) is tallied up by my parents as money I need to pay them back for. At the moment I'm over $60k in debt, and any job I can currently get with my qualifications, until I finish university, is at best $1.50 an hour. Also my parents won't let me emigrate unless I have 0 debt to them.
