They're right bro, it was a gentle boop on the noggin, not a hit. No force. Cats do that to each other all the time, often for no reason; this reason was to let the cat know biting is bad. Biting hurts, the boop did not. And unlike many other cats, probably won't be abandoned or taken to a shelter because it's mean and bites people, since it was taught not to. Cat is ok. At my university at least, there is basically no oversight on grading. You don't even have to use the course management system, which is not linked to the final grade reporting by default anyways. You only need enough evidence to back yourself in case a student complains about their grades.

Well that's the way college works. A professor can literally give you an "A" in the class without doing jack shit. They have the say and power to pass you in their course. It can be used for good (say you are an actual genuis and you just blow off your assignments because it's too easy, the professor can still pass you). On the other hand it is used for bad. College is somewhat broken, I really don't believe in the system because if you know someone/know people/have money you can easily manipulate your way into easy and free grades.

In t he case of the post, if the teacher gave this kid an A without taking the final, if anyone questioned him (classmates), he could just say "I took it a different day cause I was ill" or something. No one would probably even notice. The dean doesn't know. Everything's hush and quiet.
