If one actually reads the story, Abraham doesn't really kill Isaac. The whole thing was just a test to see of Abraham had a fear (respect) for god. At the last minute an angel from god stops Abraham from killing Isaac.

Since god is all loving he wouldn't command anyone to kill a person and then let them go through with it. This would mean that god could make morality arbitrary which would actually go against the essence of god since morality in itself is part of gods existence. Even an all powerful god can't contradict himself.

Hallo Hola Aloha
Hallo Hola Aloha
User avatar #68 to #67 - gardenmanly (01/13/2014) [-]
Aloha! I was just singing hawaiian roller coaster ride to myself at work today thinking about that movie!

the pros of working at a farm alone -- you can sing whatever songs you want and no one gives you judging looks except maybe the horses

how are you doing today!
User avatar #69 to #68 - ellenrimbauer (01/13/2014) [-]
I sing whenever and where ever no matter what lol

I heard horses don't judge, so you're good

Great! How about you?
User avatar #70 to #69 - gardenmanly (01/13/2014) [-]
oh good, they always just stare at me when I sing so I'm always nervous lol

I'm doing pretty well thanks just kinda laying arounddd

Do you play any musical instruments?
User avatar #71 to #70 - ellenrimbauer (01/13/2014) [-]
They do it because they like it

I've been busy all day, kinda. It was a good kind of busy, though.

No, I wanna learn drums though. What about you?
User avatar #72 to #71 - gardenmanly (01/13/2014) [-]
what kind of busy is a good busy?

I used to play drums, it was fun but being that close while they were played was always too loud for my taste haha
And yeah I took piano lessons for years when I was younger, and then guitar, and currently I'm learning violin, thats what made me think to ask. I should be practicing right now but I'm being lazy...
User avatar #73 to #72 - ellenrimbauer (01/13/2014) [-]
Well, in acting we are doing this thing called a Human Video, its basically taking a song and using movements and gestures to create your own meaning for it. We were at the park and we were just saying ideas and working on the movement. I also got Mountain Dew and a giant brownie... but that wasn't really work lol I also cleaned out my fire pit, and now I have dirt under my skin..

Drums are my favorite instrument, guitar used to be, piano is nice and so is the violin :3 You good at it already? or have you just started leaning?
User avatar #74 to #73 - gardenmanly (01/13/2014) [-]
How did you get dirt under your skin...? lol
And thats cool, you do theater? What song are you using for the Human Video?

And welllllllllll I don't like to brag, but I can totally play ******* ******* littler star with only like 1 or 2 mess ups yeahhhhhh I just started a couple weeks ago haha
User avatar #75 to #74 - ellenrimbauer (01/13/2014) [-]
I was cleaning out all the junk and metal in from my fire pit and I have a small but deep cut in my hand and its got dirt in it and I can't get it out! D:

Ehh.. acting, only 'cause I needed another elective. Ever heard of Dr. Horrible's Sing-along blog? Its a song from that movie called On the Rise.

Impressive XD I'm sure its better than anything I could do lol
User avatar #76 to #75 - gardenmanly (01/13/2014) [-]
Sound like you just need to take a big knife and cut out the dirt! That'll solve it lol

I have watched that movie, I liked it quite a bit, so I do know that song

Are you in high school or college? (or I guess elementary school but I don't think they have electives there lol)
User avatar #77 to #76 - ellenrimbauer (01/13/2014) [-]
I once had to cut something out of my foot... it was annoying. I'll just use a scrubby thing to get the dirt out, I'm sure I'll be fine O.o

Well, my group is using the song, and we've got so many great ideas! It'll be wonderful when everything is put together.

High school.. might as well be in elementary school, though -_-
User avatar #78 to #77 - gardenmanly (01/13/2014) [-]
What did you have to cut out of your foot... O.o

And sounds like you're at least having fun with it, even if you're only doing it cause you needed another elective!

Why do you say that?
User avatar #79 to #78 - ellenrimbauer (01/13/2014) [-]
Some stupid splinter... it was tiny and just wouldn't come out, and this person wouldn't leave me alone about it.. He kept saying it was going to go into my blood stream and find its way to my heart and kill me >:| I just took some scissors and cut a few layers from the heel of my foot and got it out.

Acting is a fun class, my friends are in there and people are really good. The teacher really sucks, though.

My school is terrible, they treat us like we are in 3rd grade or something. No electronics because people recorded fights last year, dress code is stupid, no PJ pants, slippers, or anything like that. Not allowed to wear skirts or shorts that are 3 inches above the knee even though it covers everything -_- They send us to "time out" when we misbehave.. and take away our warm breakfast when some people leave a mess on the tables. My school is just terrible.

On the plus side, I'll be graduating in May!
User avatar #80 to #79 - gardenmanly (01/13/2014) [-]
lol -- a splinter working its way to your heart to kill you I bet it shut him up when you cut it out

Yeahhhhhhh acting teachers usually suck in my opinion.. They are always so pretentious it kills me

And wow... that does not sound like a fun school to be in at all.. I can't believe they take away breakfast for a mess on the table... Thank goodness you only have 4 more months! haha

--sorry I didn't reply for a little while, had to go shower

He was happier with me taking a sharp object to my foot than letting me deal with a bit of discomfort for a day or two!

My acting teacher took my scissors away.. she acted like I was a dangerous 4 year old with a sharp object -_- She just overreacts way too much.. so she picked the right profession.

Yup! Then its outta this stupid place and hopefully someone nice.

Its mkay, being clean is important :p
User avatar #83 to #81 - gardenmanly (01/13/2014) [-]
Lol thats okay, I once had a teacher take a bottle of glue away from me because she thought I wasn't responsible enough to have it. Some teachers just blow things way out of proportion, I dont get it

farm work mainly, cutting up wood, feeding horses, etc etc.
I like it well enough in the rain when I can just be walking by a pond or something, but working in the rain is usually just bleh.. but I'm with you, I'd much rather be sleeping when its rainy out, prefereably with the windows open so I can hear it and stuff

They are fun but they are a lot of work... I think I might like cows just a little better
Cows are really really dumb, but they are just so funny that it makes up for everything
plus I love their noses.. I dont know why haha

And I envy you for that :p

(note: my head is slightly more proportional to the rest of my body in real life)
User avatar #55 to #54 - ellenrimbauer (01/12/2014) [-]
Loving cow noses? lol Everyone's got their weird likes and dislikes I suppose..

I've never been a big fan of farm animals, but horses are awesome. I like horseback riding, but I've only done it a few times :/

I have two older brothers that got to do all the work, so I got off with mostly easy things
User avatar #56 to #55 - gardenmanly (01/12/2014) [-]
Welllllllllllll I dont know lol, when I was little, whenever a new calf was born, I would get to help feed it, and they are so messy, milk would get everywhere and all over their noses, and it was just adorable, so cow noses remind me of that

Horse back riding is fun, I prefer driving them in like a sleigh or something personally. More comfortable! What are you a big fan of though? What do you like to do

That worked out good then! Though it couldn't have been too easy growing up with 2 older brothers
User avatar #57 to #56 - ellenrimbauer (01/12/2014) [-]
That does sounds really cute :3

Never rode in a sleigh or carriage, I would love to though.

I enjoy ready, listening to music, playing video games, cooking foods (mostly sweets), and long walks on the beach What about you?

I think its better than having two older sisters, but we would fight a lot until we all got old enough to just 'get along'
User avatar #58 to #57 - gardenmanly (01/12/2014) [-]
Come visit me, I'll take you for a carriage ride

I have not been to the beach in like 3 years... but I do like it! I also like playing video games when I have the time, watching movies, going for runs (when the weather is warmer) and such and such

And thats a good point.. I have 2 brothers also, so there was a lot of fighting and rough-housing growing up (even still quite a bit now)
User avatar #59 to #58 - ellenrimbauer (01/12/2014) [-]

I used to go all the time when I was younger, every weekend it would be the beach and the flea market or the beach or the flea market.. I miss it.

What video games? and what console(s)?

My father left me and my brothers home alone 'cause he had to work, so we got to do pretty much whatever. My brothers both fought each other but they weren't allowed to really hit me since I'm a girl... it was stupid.
User avatar #60 to #59 - gardenmanly (01/12/2014) [-]
Oh man.. pretty much everything under the sun.
Virtual Boy, NES, Super NES, Atari, Coleco Vision, N64, Gamecube, Playstation, PS2, Xbox, Xbox 360, Wii, Wii-U, Sega Dreamcast, Sega Genesis...
What made you stop going?

and oh man.. pretty much everything except the PS3 and the newest Gen.
In terms of games, Legend of Zelda will always be one of my all time favorites, but I also loved like Skyrim, La Noire, Assassins Creed, etc.
What about you?

And hey, that just means you get to take advantage of the situation by hitting them and them not being allowed to hit back lol
User avatar #61 to #60 - ellenrimbauer (01/12/2014) [-]
Good man :o I dislike the PS3, it doesn't have Gears on it.. or Halo.

Wow.. that's a lot of consoles :o

I've only been able to play the PS1, PS2, Xbox, and Xbox 360. I believe I played another one when I was younger, Nintendo 64 or Super Nintendo.. can't remember anymore, but it had DK on it!

Gears of War series, Halo 1 - 3 with Reach being acceptable, CoD games but mostly for Zombies, Fable 1 - 3, and GH. I don't like the Elderscroll games too much, I wanna try La Noire, and we have all the AC games here, but I haven't played any of them..

We moved and the beaches aren't that great here. The flea market isn't as great either.

Meh.. I don't like the whole 'double standards' thing, if I hit them, they can hit back :|
User avatar #62 to #61 - gardenmanly (01/12/2014) [-]
I royally suck at halo... I used to play it with my ex-girlfriends brother whenever I went over to her house a couple years ago, but he would crush me every time lol. I was slowely getting better but then I broke up with the girl I was dating so I stopped getting to play with her brother. Gears of war is fun though, I like those games but they always feels a little too... bulky I guess? Never played fable though, I'll have to give it a shot.

And thats good, I always hate girls that are under the impression they are invincible just because they are female.. I always like girls I can kinda rough-house with a little anyway, I've been known to have a few wrestling matches with one of my best friends who is a girl.
User avatar #63 to #62 - ellenrimbauer (01/12/2014) [-]
I'm decent at it lol Gears is my favorite game, Fable is fun, I think the first or second one are the best. Should've just took their Halo game and 360...

I was raised in a house with 3 males, I learned that things wont go my way all the time so I know better than to expect things just because I have female parts. I'm a little too small for any kind of serious rough housing, but I can deal with some stuff.
User avatar #64 to #63 - gardenmanly (01/12/2014) [-]
Nah their 360 was a piece of **** , they had to have a fan blowing on it to keep it cool because the internal fan broke... I shoulda just taken their game and left lol

Its like 2:00 AM here though, and I'm exhausted, so I think I'm gunna turn in for the night. It was lovely talking with you, hope we can do so again in the near future! G'night

I can't reply anymore on that post, how about we talk on here?

I started with fantasy novels, but the thing is that I am bursting with ideas or am completely depleted, which makes it hard to keep writing.
Then I have my newest project, a novel where the main character complains about having a boring life and he is a regional bank manager, one of the banks in his region asks about gaining more staff, and he looks into the bank and finds out that they are in a deficit of over five million euros, then he finds out that the bank made a lot of loans. He looks into this and finds out that the people the loans were given to do not exist, **** hits the van afterwards.
User avatar #37 to #36 - ellenrimbauer (05/25/2013) [-]
That's fine with me

How about trying a bunch of different drafts of the same story? or different stories that you can think of, and then going back to them later when you find more details to add to them?

Sounds kind of like it would have a slow beginning to it, but would turn out being interesting. When I read a book I always read the first page to see if its any good to keep going with the next page or chapter. The description has to be good, and sometimes the art on the cover, I'm kind of picky with what I read though.

Have you tried writing short stories?
User avatar #38 to #37 - moshthun (05/25/2013) [-]
I have tried, and the thing is that I just cannot, I am too descriptive.
User avatar #39 to #38 - ellenrimbauer (05/25/2013) [-]
I've never been interested in writing, I'm a horrible writer, no beginning horrible ending and way too much in the middle, though I did write a creepypasta one time, not very good.

Isn't it good to be descriptive?
User avatar #40 to #39 - moshthun (05/25/2013) [-]
Not in short stories. With books that are giant it is.
User avatar #41 to #40 - ellenrimbauer (05/25/2013) [-]
Yeah, that makes sense. Well, if its something you really want just keep trying for it.

I can get Mountain dew anywhere her pretty much and there are like 5 different kinds. Where do you live? also, Gears of War is amazing

Oh that's cool. I have seen some videos about the gamer fuel ones (For Halo and WoW) they looked awesome. I live in Ireland. And hell yeah, gears rocks!
User avatar #24 to #23 - ellenrimbauer (11/18/2012) [-]
The Gamer Fuel for Halo 4 tasted amazing, like gummy bears and mountain dew mixed. Gears is my favorite Xbox 360 game, the Campaign is great but the multi-player isn't too good :/
User avatar #25 to #24 - DremoraValkynaz (11/18/2012) [-]
D: that's another game I want to play. Gears, It's one of my favorite series. Campaign is always awesome, but for me GoW 1 multiplayer was epic, such fond memories of playing for hours on end with a few friends. Sadly the multiplayer went downhill fast after 1. Oh well, **** happens I guess.
User avatar #26 to #25 - ellenrimbauer (11/18/2012) [-]
Halo 4 just doesn't seem that Great, to me everything after Halo 3 kind of sucked. Gears 1 had a good muliplayer but Gears 2 was too laggy and Gears 3 has the Saw doff shotgun. They did add horde and that was pretty cool, but the regular multiplayer is just not living up to the awesomeness of the name Gears of War.
User avatar #27 to #26 - DremoraValkynaz (11/19/2012) [-]
I've always been a fan of the Halo series, even if the game itself wasn't very good. It's the really epic story and soundtrack that I adore about the series, sadly a lot of games were really poor. For me the best Halo games were Halo : Combat Evolved and Halo Reach. Halo 2 wasn't too bad but Halo 3 was extremely Meh for me. *Shrug* Still had solid stories and such.

Gears 2 multiplayer made me frustrated to no end. Gears 3 multiplayer wasn't too bad, certainly a lot better than GoW 2, yet just didn't have the impact of GoW 1 (Then again my xbox broke a month after I got Skyrim so I didn't really get to play GoW 3 much). Horde is really good fun but doesn't make up for the mediocre multiplayer experience.

Hopefully Judgement is somewhat better.
User avatar #28 to #27 - ellenrimbauer (11/19/2012) [-]
I only played Halo because my brothers played it and I like shooting games, then after we got an Xbox 360 I started playing other games like Gears and Guitar Hero. Halo is a good multiplayer game, the campaign isn't too amazing, and forge is a bit addicting, but I think that anything after 3 kind of just got over done and a little crappy.
Gears is definitely best for the Campaign, I've played all 3 and I've redone the 1st one more than 3 times with friends and by myself, the only time I would play mulitplayer is when no other game sounded interesting at the moment. Horde is pretty much just the Zombies and the Firefight but on instead of zombies and aliens, its Locust.

I can't wait til that game comes out, I'm really hoping they didn't just kill the game, the trilogy was great but I guess Judgement is supposed to be a prequel.
#29 to #28 - DremoraValkynaz (11/19/2012) [-]
Only reason I like Halo Reach is that it was prequel and I read the books before I played. but past that I do agree, its been pretty much the same thing. Just like the CoD games (I won't go any further than that, because I hate the CoD series, well every post CoD 4)

I was kinda hoping the series would have ended with GoW 3, I found it to be a perfect trilogy, though a prequel would be nice, just hopefully its done well and not something like GoW 3.5

I have high hopes for a lot of games coming out.
User avatar #30 to #29 - ellenrimbauer (11/19/2012) [-]
Reach is decent, I kind of liked ODST too, but mostly because it was short and entertaining. COD 4 is the best in my opinion but yeah, they do just put the same games out with a different tittle pretty much.

I agree, they didn't give any hints that it would continue after 3 but now they're making a prequel, it seems like it will be good but I'm just hoping they don't over do it.

I'm not sure what games are coming out, I play mostly the same games or just the series of the games.
User avatar #31 to #30 - DremoraValkynaz (11/19/2012) [-]
Same here, just a few different games across different platforms I'm looking forward to.

Xbox used to be my favorite gaming platform, but just became to unreliable for me. I'm more of a pc gamer these days, but enjoy hopping on the xbox now and again to play some Guitar Hero and Xbox exclusives.
User avatar #32 to #31 - ellenrimbauer (11/19/2012) [-]
Which games?

Xbox is the only console I play now, sometimes its the original and sometimes its the 360. PC games just don't interest me, I have to have a controller to play something, not just a mouse, but I do like escape games and mini games, they're alright for when I have nothing else to do. What difficulty do you play on Guitar Hero?
User avatar #33 to #32 - DremoraValkynaz (11/19/2012) [-]
Splinter Cell, Devil May Cry Reboot, Metal Gear Solid : Ground Zeroes (Long way off, but ******* hell it looks epic), The Elder Scrolls Online, Dead Space 3, Crysis 3, Tomb Raider, DayZ (Stand alone version), Remember me and a whole bunch of others.

I play on Expert. I'm not the best GH player, I just play it because its fun and normally awesome soundtrack to choose from. I used to be rather decent, just don't play as often as I used to. I like to play both guitar and bass, mainly bass.
