Some people are, for lack of a better word, stupid, so you can never be sure what someone means unless they say (type) it.

I can't hear your voice or see your face when I read the words. If you have a specific tone you want to convey to the internet population, make a little note at the bottom of your comment, even if it's in small letters.

I was calm, but how do you expect someone to react when you say everyone on the internet is atheist?

Well I think there are two possible reasons for that:

1.) Internet has a vast amount of information readily available to anyone who wants to look, so people are less ignorant about scientific and religious topics, and can come to a more informed conclusion.

2.) Anonymity is key on the internet so people who would otherwise be religious in their daily life because of: Family/society/fear/etc etc etc, have the ability to express their true feelings on the subject.
User avatar #449 - indecisivejew (06/30/2012) [-]
You are completely correct I don't know why you are getting red thumbs.
User avatar #459 - noblexfenrir (06/30/2012) [-]
Because people like disagreeing with me lol and probably because I implied that religion falls with the introduction of mass information. That is what I think is the main reason atleast.
#443 - anonymous (06/30/2012) [-]
Actually you are right but I must say I am an ex-atheist now a christian because of my further look into atheism and the sciences I now understand there is something I never understood. "Christianity, if false, is of no importance, and if true, of infinite importance. The only thing it cannot be is moderately important." It takes profound knowledge and philosophy to understand religion and that you are not a sack of walking meat.
User avatar #457 - noblexfenrir (06/30/2012) [-]
Ah pascals wager. Apply that to ALL religions instead of just christianity and the problem of just christianity or atheism becomes lost in a sea of ideals.

I understand religion, and to be honest as an atheist I don't think I'm just a sack of walking meat, I am a human. My own importance of how I see myself is based just on that: How I view myself. Religion is just an example of people wanting to feel more important than we actually are by making a god who made the entire universe for us and we are the epitome of amazing.

I knew saying that being an athiest isn't anything special anymore was a bad thing to say on the internet, but it's the truth. Every one likes being special. Even though I'd consider myself an agnostic because religion nor athiesm makes any sense, and I'm not quite sure.

I think you mean on the internet, because atheists are an incredible minority in the rest of the world. However we are growing in alot of areas, US mainly, there are alot of highly religious places where you are condemned for being an atheist and as a result the results of worldwide atheists are very skewed.
