Well I think there are two possible reasons for that:

1.) Internet has a vast amount of information readily available to anyone who wants to look, so people are less ignorant about scientific and religious topics, and can come to a more informed conclusion.

2.) Anonymity is key on the internet so people who would otherwise be religious in their daily life because of: Family/society/fear/etc etc etc, have the ability to express their true feelings on the subject.

You are completely correct I don't know why you are getting red thumbs.

Because people like disagreeing with me lol and probably because I implied that religion falls with the introduction of mass information. That is what I think is the main reason atleast.

Ah pascals wager. Apply that to ALL religions instead of just christianity and the problem of just christianity or atheism becomes lost in a sea of ideals.

I understand religion, and to be honest as an atheist I don't think I'm just a sack of walking meat, I am a human. My own importance of how I see myself is based just on that: How I view myself. Religion is just an example of people wanting to feel more important than we actually are by making a god who made the entire universe for us and we are the epitome of amazing.

And because majority of people are young kids or young adults, and the newer generations are going away from religion.
