I have played both DOOM and Wolfenstein and thought they were great games. As a matter of fact, I've put more hours into DOOM than I have most games in my steam library right now. I never said these were bad games, nor did I say they were games not worth their salt.

I simply pointed out a sociological fact. The general population does not care which came first, they flock to MGS because it's got amazing graphics, smooth and enjoyable gameplay, and a deep, story driven campaign. For these reasons, MGS is definitively better than it's predecessors even though it's predecessors were the ones who paved the way to it's creation.

DOOM and Wolfenstein, along with all of the greats of yesteryear, are insanely enjoyable and chalked full of nostalgia. They have truly paved the way for modern gaming, but against the technology we have today they are simply obsolete.

But that's OK. You'll forgive me.
