actually the opposite, it'd get hotter and hotter due to the fact that it can not transfer its heat to anything which is also a problem

Still I don't think the container needed would be able to support the internal pressure caused by the vacuum. Also, gravity wouldn't the dirt and water just fly all over the place and leave the roots exposed causing it to die? Still not sure if it would work or not I think it could work built by the right people using special materials and knowledge

Space isn't cold. It's neutral. Your exposure to any nearby stars is what'll judge the temperature, but it's not inherently cold.

Actuall,y in the vacuum of space an object can maintain its temprature for long periods of time as there is no way to dissipate heat. Its possible that a vacuumed sealed terrarium could maintain its temprature indefinitely.
