Agreed. It's entirely possible he's still dealing with the same IRL issues that delayed this to December in the first place.

It's not a bad start. If you want a few critiques though, here are a couple.

-I think you've made the bow almost too simple here... the references I've found have it slightly bigger then that, with a cool spikey zombie pattern (you shouldn't cram all 4 spikes on it, but you can suggest the texture with 3). It should be lower on the head as well, as according to the references I've found the bow starts at the widest point of the ear and extends to just above the low part of her eye.
-Hair is a smidge too small... according to my references, the hair stops at the same point the bow starts (widest part of the ear), and I'm not sure if you need to make it taller or not (it depends on how the proportions look)

It may seem like a lot, but increasing the size should also give you more space to add details and so forth. I went ahead and included a reference for what I'm talking about, in case my rambling was incoherent.

All your comments are quite correct, all of them passed through my mind when I was working on it, but I couldn't figure out how to get the bow to look better, as for the hair, I already have a planned fix for that, but I'm not sure how it will really look until I implement it.

My advice for the bow (and any object with a unique shape, really) would be to maybe copy the vector version, shrink it down, and then trace over that with the actual pixels... the technique useless for smaller details or complex ones, but for larger objects such as the bow it should give you a good starting point.

If you want, I can make up a quickie tutorial for you to show you what I mean, I just don't want to step on your toes or anything.

I should be able to manage that on my own, I'll get back to you with the results.
