Really it doesn't matter which one you get. The games play differently, but if you showed an interest in getting Skyrim, then I'd get Skyrim. The other Elder Scrolls games are good, but they aren't necessary to play Skyrim. Each game has their ups and downs. Usually, the hate comments I'll see aimed at Skyrim is the fact that the cave/dungeon design in the game is very bland with very little complexity. Also, you will most likely run across a glitch preventing you from completing a quest a few times. If it's a side quest, it doesn't matter too much, but it can be a problem when trying to complete a questline. If it does happen, you'll have to keep reverting back to a save before the quest starts and keep doing the quest until it works. As for Oblivion and Morrowind, I've never played Morrowind so I can't give a comment on it, but Oblivion was pretty good too I still haven't finished Oblivion yet I haven't played long enough to experience glitching, but I have seen gifs of glitching happening. The storyline is good. The only problem with the game I have is that it has a little bit of a learning curve. The GUI for the game is much different from Skyrim and having played Skyrim first, then moving to Oblivion, I would get lost in it a lot. Anyway, since you haven't played any Elder Scrolls games, I'd just go with Skyrim because it's the most recent installment to the series having come out 3 and a half years ago. Oblivion came out 9 years ago, and Morrowind came out 13 years ago. I know that age is a shitty reason to buy the game, but having only played Skyrim to a full extent, I can only confidently suggest that one
