Yes, The point is not to go to war against our military. The government doesnt control the military, they direct it. We control it through who we vote for, sure they can abuse it, but not every military official or soldier would open fire on US civilians. Some would under orders, but some wouldnt.

But in reality, how could the government kill or enslave its people, subjugate us to nothing more that slaves to the higher order. Just look at Iraq or Afghanistan, we used drones and military forces there, yet look at the state those countries are in. We didnt kill all the insurgents, even with drone strikes, because we didnt know who had weapons and who didnt.

Its the same here in america, sure at first they could look up registrys, but what happens when we say no to the black suit man at the door, when we refuse to turn in our guns to 'cleanup' programs. Are they just going to kill half the population? Iraq was a failure, every solider walking in supportive or not served. How is the government going to have any real effect on its population with an army in self-conflict over killing their parents who own guns.

Besides, Do you really think that 350 million people wont be angry when their own government starts executing them? Can you imagine the riots that would break out. How many drones do they have? Millions? A few thousand at most, it would take years to kill every 'rebel' in america drone or not. How long do you think it will take before the corrupt politicians are overthrown.

Not to be that guy, but. You do realize that WWII era German citizens were appalled at their government after they found out what was happening. Do you also know that they were powerless to stop it or help the allies because their protection was taken away for the sake of protection.

Sure, back in 1776 there were only muskets. Do you think that if the founding fathers could see the repeating rifles we have today that they would think we shouldn't use them to protect ourselves from our government. Would the conflict between government and civilian be painless? Look at the civil war, the government wanted to move one way and half the country didnt want to. So it split and a new government in the south was created. If the US had another civil war would it be as bad as world war two? I dont know. But let me put it this way, in all of Americas wars, its bloodiest was with itself, when all we had was flintlock rifles. 620,000 lost in the Civil War, 405,399 in WWII. The founding fathers saw the revolution take 25,000 lives, compared to the population of the time that was similar to the civil war. Do you think they would rather have us surrender our rights because it might get bloody? No.
