I'd like to say I'm past most of what happened to me. But I don't know if that's true. I'm stable, for now, but that could change quickly I'm sure. I don't know what would be enough to send me back to where I was before. Honestly, life is ****** right now. I have no job, no money, I'm on probation and if I don't get money soon I'll be going back to jail because I can't pay my legal fees. I'm living in a city with no friends, and I don't know how to start making things better. But, at the end of the day, I don't feel depressed. So I'm not sure what would be enough to turn me back to what I was before, but things could almost only get better from here on out so I'm not too worried. The concern means a lot though.

I've heard that dirtier jobs pay better - garbage collectors, sewer or coal mine workers, et cetera. Cushy jobs like retail workers and fast food industry workers pay really ****** and get treated really ****** because they are low-effort, low-risk jobs.

It's your call in the end to make, but I'd suggest looking at less favorable or more dangerous work which will pay more. Legal fees might end up sorting themselves.

Again, I'm the last person to ask about this kind of **** . But if it improves your life, do it.

That's fair. I've been applying only at the places which I have experience to work in, but of course so few will hire you when you're on probation. It certainly wouldn't hurt to look for something a little dirtier.

Look to where honest men work. Say that you've had some bad times and you're looking to change. When they ask why, shrug and say "That's what you're supposed to do, right?". Can't blame a guy for wanting to get decent.
