dubh (06/27/2015) [-] Strangers are generally well-received mainly because a sizable portion of our economy depends on them . We have a concept over here called craic, which means fun. "Always up for a bit o' craic" is the saying. Just, if you don't want to start any fights, don't talk about the government or religion. Same as in Belfast, there're a lot of divided opinions, and a lot of people feel quite stronglly about them. It's especially bad if they've had a bit to drink That's a euphemism. In Ireland, "a bit to drink" can mean anything from a a single pint to alcohol poisoning. . Neat, i can dig the drinking stuff. And i don't talk about religion or government anyway so thats fine too. | Well, i AM mainly interested in the natural beauty, but i heard thats more of a thing in the south of ireland? #206 -
dubh (06/27/2015) [-] Oh no, there's beauty all over if you've got the right eyes for it. Lots of places up North are very boggy, but you've also got rolling hills, some lovely farm land. A thing I forgot to mention is, of course, the drinks. Guinness is still top dog, but recently there's been a surge of popularity for craft beers and ales. So if you're in to that, go for your life. Guess i'll have to~ How well receiving is the general population to stranger though? i usually tend to travel alone #214 -

dubh (06/27/2015) [-] Yeah sure, I guess. Big attraction is the natural beauty, we got a lot o' that. And we're pretty relaxed about most things that aren't directly harmful. Some tourists find that aspect of the country very lax and irresponsible, so be warned. Also, if you're going to Belfast or anywhere up North, try not to mention anything about religion. A lot of people up there still remember the Troubles, in fact most of them lived through them. Well, i AM mainly interested in the natural beauty, but i heard thats more of a thing in the south of ireland? #206 -

One time I tried to make a home-made flesh light. I ended up making a huge mess everywhere. I had to take five showers to get the smell off.
