- You forgot asterisk.
Obelix was never very tactful.
You forget the almost every single name in the comic was a pun for example goldendeliciousix
Even better, the names changed depending on the language.
You guys grew up with Getafix and Cacafonix, Vitalstatistix and god knows who else.
I grew up with Panoramix, Asturancetourix and Abraracoursix.
Asterix, Obelix and Idefix stayed the same though.
Good fucking lord, I've got all the movies and all the comic books, and a few games. I love them more than my own mother.
Who was Idefix?
The little dog that belonged to Obelix, a protagonist in it's own right. (amazing bits with him in Mission Cleopatra)
I am pretty sure it was called dogmatix here
Fuck, I must be getting confused then with the French translation.
In my defence, I'm Belgian. I saw these comics in Dutch, German, French, and later on in English.
You read in 4 languages and i failed GCSE spanish
We didn't have much of a choice in the matter. You're force fed French at the age of 10, German comes five years later. English is at 13. (that is if you're Flemish, don't know how the Walloons learn their languages (in what order and age I mean)).
We're a fucked up little country with more languages than politicians with brains.
And this conversation started about a comic
True, I apologize for side tracking.
Have a bit of Gauly goodness as a peace offering.
You just made my day thank you for this gift
And a personal favourite.
Allow me to bring more!
How have i missed this before now
Have you watched the full movies yet? You really should if you haven't. They're comedy gold mines (the real ones are great, with the exception of the last one, God Save the Queen, as they deviate from the original characters too much in my opinion.)
I shall go do that now because this is just amazing
To be fair, the animated movies are worth watching too. Even the old ones. It's one of the few series where they really kept their quality high, even if it means a slow production. With the death of one of the creators the comics have nearly grinded to a total halt.
I have all of them and treasure them immensely.
