To give you some context: that's slower than naruto, with filler.
Yeah but i see it that quite a lot happens each chapter. like i've ended up reading the manga and each arc is only around 15-25 chapters long.
I like it as an organic pace, better than S1 as it's really getting into it. Enough happends each chapter that i've enjoyed the episodes but still has me looking forward to next week's etc.
Plus i generally think this anime does the shounen genre really well. e.g. deku is the MC but everyone around him get's real development and progress as well as him and the idea of quirks is brilliant imo, they all have limits and weaknesses but some vary in strengths of pure fighting power however they can be weaker than other ones. Dude called
appears much later and shows how incredible seemingly useless quirks can become incredibly powerful
Right but the actual arcs don't contain much for an overall story, they are what is called "mini arcs".
I think this show is below mediocre for a number of reasons, but i'll just focus on what you've put:
>"Does the shounen genre really well."
No. Jojo's and One Piece do the genre well. MHA is the equivalent of putting out a C grade product and polishing it enough to pass it off as B- . There just isn't enough within the world or characters to say MHA does the genre well as compared to almost any other mainstream shonen. It surely competes with stuff like Food Wars or Fairy Tail, but even touching other classics is beyond MHA right now.
>"everyone around him gets real development".
No, they don't. The development is superficial. It's development that is quickly forgotten and ignored. This is something that is common called "checklisting". You run through the list of what needs to be done without understanding
it needs to be done. This leads to a poor end product. MHA for instance has many of it's characters face and overcome a SINGLE challenge, and then what? Then they cameo in fights for the rest of the show.
The only exception are of course the Naruto/Sasuke of the show: Deku and Bakugo.
>"They all have limits and weaknesses"
What you said describes every powers series ever. This is the single most common theme in any powers show.
Also Mirio has Kitty Pryde's powers, which are
. Acting like his power is "seemingly useless" is just retarded. The MHA author does this constantly, where he presents a narrative that just goes against common sense.
