yeah I think we all know its not about logic, because logically going to Iraq s probably the worst idea anyone could make. I don't know why everyone on this sight treats soldiers with more respect than other people, just because you risk your life doesn't make you a hero. Plenty of other people risk their lives doing other things everyday, but those people aren't ruining other people's lives. Those people for example may be miners or maybe a police man might even find himself in a little pickle trying to enforce the law. A soldier kills people, there is absolutely nothing anyone can argue to change that fact. Buildings get destroyed, civilians are caught in crossfires, and innocent people are forced to fight because they want to protect their country because you people invaded. But then you'll just blame the politicians, "Oh its not my fault that I gunned down an enemy soldier trying to protect his country, because the man in the chair told me to do it." That's a giant load of bull and you should now it. The man with the gun gives the politician power, so if any soldier gives me that excuse then I can just say "well if you don't like his decisions why did you enlist to work for him?"

I can't pretend to know all of the reasons why you fight, and I also can't pretend to know what its like to be in a combat situation. But your logic is if I can save someone I call brother I can die happy? Even if saving him requires you to kill a person that is a brother to someone else? That is terrible, do you people think of anyone but your selves? Do you ever think about the enemy? They are just people too except in most cases when they are fighting your country they are the ones who are trying to protect their rights and their families. You just go there to help your fellow soldiers, at the cost of ruining other people's lives? well, not all of us are there to kill civilians or whatever you think were doing, your opinions are based on propaganda and things you know nothing about, when i was in iraq i saved children caught in the crossfire of not us, but waring militant groups, used my body as a human shield, so no, were not all assholes, and i treat civilians in america with the same respect i treat my brothers, if you dont want to say thank you, or whatever you think that other people feel necessary, then i dont care.. thats not the reason i do it

I am not trying to offend you or any marine, but thats why I would never enlist. Because if history tells us anything America gets involved in some pretty pointless wars that happen for no good reason, and people die because of it. I wouldn't want to be apart of anything like that. I would only fight if my country actually needed me, like it was invaded or a global power (like the nazis in ww2) threatened to overturn the balance of power.

well thats all very noble and what you do is brave I guess, but if you weren't all fighting over there, then you wouldn't have to worry about protecting the man to your left and right.
