just because you are doing the same basic thing over and over doesn't necessarily mean the game is repetitive.

all games are just hitting buttons in response to what we see on screens, so all games are inherintly repetitive. The problem comes when you are doing the same exact thing for an entire game. same weapons, same enemies, same dangers, same tactics to win.

if you could actually read, then you'd have seen what i was saying that just because a game is shooting different shootable things for the whole game, doesn't mean you have to shoot them in the same way, with the same gun, using the same tactics, in the same environment.

more importantly, all video games are inherently repetitive, so saying "what, you expected an fps to not be repetitive?" with the implication that there are video games that aren't repetitive, is slightly silly

what i was trying to say, was that anything that can have any ounce of variablity in it isn't repetitive. yes, all fps' involve defeating your obstacles by shooting things in a first person view, but when you look at it more closely, a good first person shooter should have enough variability so that it isn't >repetitive and boring, by allowing you to defeat enemies in a different way, even if it is only slightly different
