VW... haha they wish.
That's a Tesla (as seen in the Title). It's a fully electric car that can seat 5+2 people and has a performance of a sports car (3.2s accel) and range of an ICE (internal combustion engine).
Pretty fucking amazing.

It is awesome, but I wouldn't call 267 the range of an average ICE vehicle. My 6.1L V8 gets 430 miles to a 19 gallon tank of gas, my grams 2.0L Elentra gets almost 500 to a 17 gallon tank, etc. Then there is the fact you can't just pull up somewhere and refill the battery in a minute like you can an ICE vehicle. Electric cars are an awesome idea, but we aren't there yet. Can't wait though.

Considering porsche makes the fastest hybrid production car on earth I'm sure they're alright.

Well it was made in 2011, so it's a little older, the 0-60 is actually slightly slower (still 3.7 seconds is fast) than the Tesla's 3.2 (though both pale in comparrison to the Nismo GTR's 2.0 second 0-60)
What makes the Electric Drive model so fast is the fact that each wheel is driven by an individual electric motor, although the car weighs 4700 pounds, it can effectively turn on the spot. It'll only do 155 but you'll hit that in under 10 seconds, and you'll be going round corners faster than you thought possible. For 10 minutes until the battery dies, and you have to spend 20 hours (yes, literally 20 hours @ 240 watts) charging it.
It's a novelty supercar (toy) for the super-rich, wher as the tesla is an actual functioning sports-car, that can be used as a daily driver, and has a reasonable price-point.

I just wanted to let you know that no GT-R has ever gone 0-60 in 2.0 except for the AMS Performance Alpha Omega which does it in 1.53 but that doesn't count because it's a GT-R tuned by an aftermarket company with the entire engine rebuilt along with bigger turbos and intercoolers producing 2000 horsepower.
The fastest stock GT-R 0-60 time is 2.8 seconds and that was the 2013 Black Edition tested by Motortrend; the NISMO did it in 2.9, also tested by Motortrend magazine

You're right - The Nismo GTR is, according to Nismo, capable of a 2.0 second 0-60, but supposedly was tuned slower as to improve longevity of the parts.
But hey, they could be talking shit, either way, you're right in that the market Nismo does manage a mere 2.9 (although it feels strange calling that slow)

I dont think a 2 second 0-60 is possible with the amount of power the car has unless it was heavily modified.
I mean 600 horsepower is really not that much, especially considering that the car is heavy for a sports car (3800 lbs). 2 seconds is ridiculously quick. The only car that comes close is the Porsche 918 which does it in 2.2 seconds, but not only is it 100lbs lighter than the GT-R, it also has 287 more horsepower

Changing the tune could go as far as to encompass changing boost and pressure levels, this could, in theory add 50bhp/turbo (reliably) race fuel would help too.
Theoretically, bhp doesnt matter TOO much in a 0-60 time, it's about traction, and torque.
Hence the 918 having such a fast launch, those electric motors lay out an enormous amount of torque, (and pick up the slack between gears) and although there's only a small amount of power to the front wheels, it helps get all the tyres planted, faster.
I'm sceptical too, though. BUT the GTR is a very complex vehicle. I wouldn't be all too surprised if it were possible.

Probably not on something that would be able to be daily driven.
The fastest GT-R ever which does 0-60 in 1.53 seconds has a low 7 second quarter mile. So a 2.0 second 0-60 GT-R would still probably have an 8 second quarter mile, and I don't know a lot of 8 second cars that are daily driven

Just got a software update which lowers the time by .1 seconds which happens over air seamlessly through 4g. Mosts users are currently unaware they're living in the fracking future!

5+2 means that the standard version of the car seats 5 people, but there is an option to add 2 more seats in the rear for an additional 2 people.
This is not a new idea; many sports cars from the 90s are considered 2+2's (2 standard seats but also the option to put in a rear row)

range? Im not quite sure what you mean by that, but if you're saying it can drive as far as an internal combustion engine you're sadly mistaken.
Or well I guess SOME internal combustion engines don't go far, but either way I wouldn't take a tesla on a long road trip.
(not hating on teslas, I think they're fuckin awesome, just they're terrible as long distance cars, only good for around town)

With a tesla quick recharger network, you can drive coast to coast, recharging takes about 20 minutes, enough time to pee, strech your legs have a cup of coffee.
And best of it, its free. You recharge for free.
How much in gas would you pay for a long trip? Or you can drive for free.
