Speaking of which, I had a £10 mouse with macro keys and shit that lasted me like, 4 years. Since then, I've bought a Cooler Master Sentinel Advance II (or w/e the fuck it's called) for some £40 and, in comparison, it's barely any better and the macro system of it is awful.

I decided to read up on mechanical keyboards to see the difference
"Imagine every single key on the keyboard with the precision of a mouse click – no more pressing of keys without knowing for certain if they have been actuated. Precision clicking coupled with an optimized lighter key actuation force will redefine the way gamers play."
That sounds so stupid, I actually feel sorry for the guy who had to write it.
User avatar #795121 - avatarsarefornoobs (01/08/2014) [-]
i dont think ill ever understand how people can spend so much money on a keyboard
i just use whatever and it works fine for me. same with mice; as long as i got atleast one side button and a wheel, im happy.

i just think of all the games/other stuff. i could buy with the money spent on these things.
seems like a waste for anyone who isnt mlg. or rich.
User avatar #795293 - voltkills (01/08/2014) [-]
keyboards i can understand, but mice are important, and they do help alot.
User avatar #795282 - lepokerface (01/08/2014) [-]
Well if pc gaming is your hobbie and you have some money then why not?
User avatar #795130 - awesomedewd (01/08/2014) [-]
I bought the Razer Arctosa (keyboard) and Razer Lachesis (mouse) about 2 years ago.
But not because "hurr durr razer is so great gaming equipment", but because they were comfortable

Sure, before that I bought my mouse yearly, cause it was some 10-20€ mouse that would fuck up any time and the Arctosa was actually only the second keyboard I bought in my life.
But things work, they're comfortable, and if you have the money, why not spend it on something you might like?

Sure, with a pupils allowance that's not so easy, but with work it's fine.
User avatar #795132 - feferest (01/08/2014) [-]
I wish my parents gave me pupil allowance, I mean I have 2 pupils.
User avatar #795134 - awesomedewd (01/08/2014) [-]
me no english mother tongue, so me sometimes do mistakes.
And pupil certainly isn't a word I use often.
User avatar #795136 - feferest (01/08/2014) [-]
I know, I am just making a lame joke
#795101 - awesomedewd (01/08/2014) [-]
Can I ask why mechanical?

What I heard was "because of the feedback".
Are peoples fingertips so numb that they don't feel the keyboard?

I actually prefer small buttons/keys (how do you even call it on keyboards?)
pic is my current keyboard.
#795283 - anonymous (01/08/2014) [-]
I have that keyboard, its unresponsive as fuck. Can't wait to upgrade.
User avatar #795290 - awesomedewd (01/08/2014) [-]
strange problems you have there, little poor anon.
User avatar #795268 - voltkills (01/08/2014) [-]
i like big, spaced keys, i like the click, also they last longer, alot longer.
User avatar #795289 - awesomedewd (01/08/2014) [-]
Like I said below, I never changed my keyboard cause it was broken, they always lasted over years before I changed them cause I wanted to, not because I had to.
I really don't know what you're doing with your keyboards.
User avatar #795291 - voltkills (01/08/2014) [-]
ive never had one break, but ive had the key prints fall off, wear and stuff, nothing major, but then the most ive used a keyboard before my mechanical was 2 years, this will last me ages and ages.
User avatar #795295 - awesomedewd (01/08/2014) [-]
well, my current keyboard, the arctosa, is now for about 2 years in use, and I see no problems with it.
The one I used before was in use for 5 or 6, if not even more years. Worked fine for me. And it wasn't even expensive, about 20€.
I really, really, really don't know how people manage to wear out their keyboards....

Oh yeah, the on on my Laptop was crappy, that one broke, but a normal keyboard for any computer, nah, was always fine.
User avatar #795149 - bananarchy (01/08/2014) [-]
Tactile feedback in the keys lets you know when the key has actually been pressed unlike rubberdome keys which can be inaccurate
User avatar #795172 - awesomedewd (01/08/2014) [-]
Never had such a problem... maybe people just don't press hard enough? o_O
User avatar #795153 - bananarchy (01/08/2014) [-]
Also,
>Using razer to show why rubberdomes are butter
OHOHOHO
User avatar #795173 - awesomedewd (01/08/2014) [-]
I never said I use Razer to proof anything, I like the keyboard as it is, nothing more.
User avatar #795154 - bananarchy (01/08/2014) [-]
Butter
I meant better
User avatar #795147 - metalkinkajou (01/08/2014) [-]
I myself hate those kind of keyboards, so hard to write :/
User avatar #795174 - awesomedewd (01/08/2014) [-]
Do you mean mechanical ones or the "normal" ones?
User avatar #795232 - metalkinkajou (01/08/2014) [-]
Well, those kind of keyboards like Arctosa. But that's only my opinion, carry on
User avatar #795151 - bananarchy (01/08/2014) [-]
Are your fingers made of spaghetti?
User avatar #795110 - alstorp (01/08/2014) [-]
Feels better. And personally I think it's better for gaming since your fingers "stick" to the buttons more easily and therefore it's harder to press the wrong button.
User avatar #795126 - awesomedewd (01/08/2014) [-]
Well... the only times I push wrong buttons is when I think my hand lies on the right place but is 1-2 buttons on the right or left. Never had problems otherwise.
I have normal buttons at work, I don't care here much either.
But If I can choose I prefer the small ones..
User avatar #795113 - tentaquil (01/08/2014) [-]
Why don't you just use glue then
User avatar #795114 - alstorp (01/08/2014) [-]
Because that's not what I meant by "stick".
User avatar #795104 - dragontear (01/08/2014) [-]
i heard that they feel much better and that they generally have a better overall build quality, every keyboard i have ever owned does not last 1 year before developing a problem. the problem with this one? a really unresponsive shift key and a wobbly space bar. it was just £13 so i guess it's lasted well
User avatar #795128 - staticwolf (01/08/2014) [-]

User avatar #795103 - burningdash (01/08/2014) [-]
i like both, but mechanical dont break that easily, keep in mind that its just a personal thingy... and mechanical has a better "feeling"
User avatar #795124 - awesomedewd (01/08/2014) [-]
"don't break so easily?" o_O
I never broke one of mine, and I'm a pretty excessiv gamer and write a lot on the PC.
I only changend my keyboard twice in my life.
Once form PS2 to USB.
And once as I got my new PC.
User avatar #795297 - burningdash (01/08/2014) [-]
well, when buttons break, and its not mecanical, its doomed... a mechanical just need a new button
User avatar #795152 - bananarchy (01/08/2014) [-]
PS2 is better than USB though
User avatar #795171 - awesomedewd (01/08/2014) [-]
I know. But newer motherboards mostly don't even have PS2 and I don't really care that much.
