how come she didn't seem to know about han solo's reputation in the rebellion? When Finn was like "han solo the war hero?" or something like that she responded "no the smuggler," (as if she were truly ignorant of the war and only heard about him as the pilot of the falcon) yet she knew about the famed Luke Skywalker who's legend we know is deeply tied with that of Solo, and she also knew about the accomplishments of the millennium falcon, but her knowledge of the rebellion of the past seemed limited.

her knowing of force persuasion seems plausible the way you explained it (although it could arguably be attributed to instinct considering how innately attuned to the force she is), but if these "legends" are common knowledge at that point in time, then it seems like Rey is inconsistently unaware. it'd be reasonable if she didn't know about luke or han or anything of the past at all due to the secluded life she'd been living since she was a little girl, but obviously she's heard stories, and as a result i just think that she would know about Han's war efforts just as Finn does.

I think the "No, the smuggler" line was supposed to be sarcasm.

i considered that too but i just didn't think it was in rey's character to respond sarcastically like that. it's possible you're right

I can't really dispute anything about that since I don't remember much of it, but it seems like there's just two different perspectives. Finn, being in the First Order, may be taught of the 4 people who brought down the glorious Empire. Rey, however, could have heard it from rumors from other people- most likely people that may have known about Han Solo during his smuggling career.

The Sith are a very specific order of Dark Jedi. Kylo is the founder of the Knights of Ren, a different order of Dark Jedi.
