The original Diesel engine ran on canola oil.

Neat. Cool thing about diesel fuel is the viscosity. It's close in thickness to some engine oils so you MIGHT be able to substitute engine oil with diesel fuel. I know for a fact that you can put engine oil in your fuel tank to run off of because the compression ratio is close to diesel fuel. So it makes sense that the first diesels were fueled by canola oil.

I've worked on TDI's before. The oil fill cap is up on the engine. Where the nozzle is is either the washer fluid reservoir or the coolant reservoir.
