| actually, it lowers the center of gravity, giving the car less chance of rolling when pulling high speed turns. Body kits help by letting air flow around the car, but the spoilers on the back are what press down during the turn creating downforce, keeping the car on the ground. Ever see a formula 1 car flip backwards while driving? not enough downforce. #16 -
neweire (01/04/2016) [-]  Body kits dont do dick, unless your competing in WTAC F1 cars don't necessarily flip due to lack of downforce, usually they flip backwards due to the front wheels lifting off the ground and the air hitting that big flat underbelly causing it to lift There are spoilers for front wheel drive cars, but don't expect to see one on anything other than a track car.  This is correct. Body kits aint shit unless it's a track car. Lowering helps rolls marginally at best. Suspension and center of gravity help more. (Obviusly a minivan will flip easier than a convertible, but this is relative) #9 -

swagswervelol (01/04/2016) [-] both ends of the car needs traction to drive properly, even FWD. I'm not justifying the wing, but the drive wheels don't matter so much as how fast the car can go. As a majority of "ricer" wings added to street cars can't provide any useful downforce because the car just can't go fast enough to get enough air flow over it to matter. But a FWD car that gets up to triple digits benefits a lot more from a wing than a RWD that can't go above 80 mph. your correct, RWD and AWD cars benefit from wings way more that FWD cars, however, you can add very much frontal downforce to a car, so instead you lower the center of gravity, combined with a front heavy brake bias, to give maximum handeling under G-force. | ||
