That is a bad attitude imo. I don't settle for C's, but I don't expect A's (unless the class is a cake walk). Even if I get a C, i'm not upset, it is one test, and I have plenty of others to bring up the actual grade. In the end, at least for college, the degree is more important than the GPA. Sure being honor roll or whatever might look good on a resume, but job experience is the most important thing (beside a relevant degree depending on the field).

And those people who freak out about going to a 'good' college, at least in the U.S., are living in a fantasy world. For the most part, getting into a prestigious 4 year college is never a guaranteed investment, especially depending on the degree. And if you do those 4 years, pray you have parents with a college fund, or get ready for 100k in loan debt at least.

People, especially of the younger generations, have been fed, and fallen for, this idealistic quest for expensive colleges and universities. To so many, the idea of even attending a state school or community college is linked to some idea of failure on their part. Which is a ridiculous thought given that it is cheaper to do 2 years at community and then transfer into junior year at a reputable 4 year. You end up with the same degree, but a lot less debt.

yeah thats what im doing, community college then transfer.

Way i see it, the basic stuff you could practically teach yourself at home and thats what you go to community college to learn.

as hard as the calculus and physics classes im taking are, they're still basic courses and i've come to realize that.

So id rather go to uni when i know i need more than just homeschool methods to learn.
Granted some things in physics need serious equipment (chemistry too) but thats more of a demonstration thing.

Its gonna build up your lab skills though you could make an argument there.
