Well I do want to make a better life for myself and at $15 an hour plus financial aide, I could go to school no problem. The only skill I have is jiu-jitsu and there's not a huge open market for that. The jobs you described don't really hire all that often. My manager got turned down for working in a bank and she's been management for 10+ years. So don't tell me that better jobs just hire people so they can get experience. They want people with experience so they don't have to pay to train them.

Hitting the shutter release is not all that's behind photography but if it's so easy, go grab a camera and have a blast. No one's stopping you.

I can belittle myself whatever way I want.

She, the author, is not asking for help. She's trying to say why she deserves more money. Why she deserves more money HOURLY. I DEAL WITH CUSTOMERS WHO WANT FRIESSSSS EHHHH. Whooooo the fuck cares? That's your reason to demand more money?

If she was asking for help it would sound more like. Listen, I'm trying to do XYZ with my life and all I can do right now is work minimum wage jobs since I don't have any skills. This isn't where I want to be and I want to make more but I need school (and so on). Something like that I can look at and go....well shit I think we've all been there. She could use some help. But everytime I see these little blurbs about minimum wage it's always I DESERVE MORE MONEY, I FLIP BURGERS AND HAVE 5 KIDS. No one told you to live your life that way sooooo sorry, deal with it.

Skill isn't necessarily college. Yeah I went and I have 2 degrees BUT most working skills you can pick up by working on job. Welders, plumbers, electricians, mechanics, bakers, various construction, security, list goes on and on. I do wedding photography and I deal with DJs, wedding planners, locations, limo services makeup artists, hair stylists and so on again. Not too many of those things require college. Pick something you're good at and find a way to get paid for it.

Most of these people who work at McDonalds, don't want a better life, they'd rather just bitch until they get paid more. The ones that are there "for now" aren't complaining because they know it's a stepping stone to something better.

Exactly, because my job requires more skill. Why should we be paid evenly for NOT doing the same job? You only have compared the time involved but not the actual activity itself. Might as well be saying a doctor who performs a surgery that takes 3 hours is nothing compared to my 8 hour day. Low skill is low skill. You want more money, get a skill in a field that pays more. Not sure what's so hard about it considering I did it.
#353 - dontknowme (03/08/2014) [-]
I would like to point out that I don't think hitting the shutter button on a camera is a skill. Also, you kind of belittled yourself there a bit. Best not to do that in an argument. Finally, why is it so wrong for people to ask for little extra help sometimes. I'm trying to go to school, but because I'm 23, my financial aide is based off of my mother's income. She makes $60,000 a year but that's still not enough to put me through college, yet it's too much for financial aide to give me enough that I can cut back on hours and focus on school. Believe me, I'd much rather be doing physical therapy (my major), but I can't afford to go learn to make more money.

My point is that people should be paid a little more evenly. The dispersal of wealth is backwards. I work an 8 hour day that makes me sweat my ass off and have $60 or so to show for it. You might spend a couple hours at a wedding, get some free food and then get paid a few hundred dollars for hitting the button on a camera.

I'm a vegetarian. Piss off.

Please stop supporting animal cruelty.

The dairy industry is incredibly cruel. It steals the mother cows babies, kills them and then eventually kills the mother for meat.

The egg industry kills all males at birth.

So you are actively promoting animal cruelty.

Secondly, Dairy and eggs are incredibly unhealthy and cause cancer, heart disease and diabetes.

Being a vegetarian is completely stupid.

If you care about animals and your health, go vegan.

If you dont, being vegetarian is pointless because is it less healthy and more harmful than eating meat.
#5 to #4 - dontknowme (08/24/2014) [-]
No, it's really not. Granted, being a vegan is healthier, but the way that you and 99% of others go about trying tell people that is the wrong way to do it. Throwing animal cruelty in their faces won't convince won't convince many people. They don't care. They're only going to get more pissed at you.

You know what, I don't cause **** . The only dairy products I even ******* east iud cheese. So why don't you take your self righteous bull **** somewhere else. Or, come to Eugene, oregon, shoot me a text, tell me I'm being cruel to animals, and I'll show you just how healthy and strong someone can be on a vegetarian diet.

Paying the dairy industry to kill baby cows and their mothers.

So you hurt animals and now you want to hurt me?

I deplore violence. I simply wish to prove a point.

Just think about this simply.

Vegans want to end animal cruelty.

Vegetarians want it to continue.

Why should an animal pay with its life because you want to eat cheese?

There are plenty of vegan alternatives.

Ever heard of Durianrider and Freelee the Banana Girl?

Never mind. Now I want to hurt you. I don't like self righteous cunts like you.

Think about this. Purple like you are one step away from feminists and the west Boro Baptist church.

You actively support animal cruelty.

I do not.
